Hey all, I have a '93 DOHC 3000GT, my tach is giving very low revs and barely moving, reading up it sounds like a PTU issue but I can't find where to buy a new one except the $15 eBay ones that I don't want to think about. Also turning the car on sometimes in the morning, the engine sounds like its sputtering then cranks up, anyone know what that would be? Any help appreciated, thanks a ton

More likely is failing capacitors in tach, read up in link below and links included inside for everything you need to know.

I think my tach just died.

So earlier today I remember my tach working and then later today (just now) I went for a short drive and noticed it wasn't going over 1200-1500 and was idling at like 350 rpm. I seem to remember that someone else had tach problems that were solved by re capacitoring the cluster. I've tried a...

Just as a heads up, RockAuto has the Bosch version on clearance from $120 down to $40ish

It's "technically" for the Diamante 6G72, as the bracket is different, but I assume the actual PTU to be the same for these engines. Just pull it off the Diamante back-plate and swap it to yours.
(take this with a grain of salt, as it is an ASSumption)
