I'm looking to port match a few components --- head to manifold, turbo to
precat eliminator etc. --- any tips on marking the surfaces to be matched.
Once mated the openings are no longer visible so there's no way to mark
the two mating surfaces --- comments anyone.

Gasket match. That is what is going to be your restriction between the two so begin with that... remove your manifold and put on a gasket held on with a few bolts and take a lil bit of paint and mark the areas up to the beginning of the gaskets on the opening and then remove the gasket and that is the area of material to remove. do as you please from intake to heads... This is how I did it on my heads from my mustang... time consuming and messy : D lots of fun (NOT!) :p dunno the gains yet as they are 91 heads and will be goin on my 65 and havent had time to mess with it yet b/c of my infatuation with my latest car of this year (Stealth of course) good luck
