OT: Who has Windows XP

I got it yesterday. I was just wondering what everybody's thoughts were on it. My opinion is it's too different, and seems made for computer illiterate people. It is a lot more stable though, and you can switch to the "classic" setup.

XP is awesome. You just have to learn what all of the new features are. I have been using it for about 6 months and I do believe this is Microsoft's best OS ever.
Yep, Windows XP is different. It was different when we went from DOS to Windows, then different when we went from Windows 3.11 to Windows 95. Then there wasn't a lot of difference through 98, 98SE and ME. Now the difference seems to be big and it does seem to work a lot better. Different is not always bad.

XP is definitely more stable than any previous Windows product. I've been using it about 3 weeks now without any real problems other than I can't get my printer working. I have a HP Deskjet 932C and the drivers won't work with XP. Supposedly, HP is working on the problem and new drivers should be available any day now. At least that is what I am a told.

Overall, I'm very impressed with XP.

I just recently installed Windows XP. The desktop is much more nicer to use. I would recommend in buying one.

I've been running XP Pro for a a few weeks and love it.
So who here wants to be a pal and make me a "backup" copy. God forbid, wouldn't want to scratch the original that I bought for full price at the retail store;)

Haha.. I don't know if anyones figured out how to umm, pirate, XP yet... this is the first OS that Microsoft has tried to make it virtually impossible to bootleg..

I wish I could get XP.. even 2000.. my damn cable modem only has drivers that go up to Win 98 :(
I like my XP. Its very stable and i havent had any problems yet. Much better than ME.

I have a burned Copy of XP Pro. It's a 180 evaluation copy but I have the crack for it. I had no problems activating it either.
i didn't have to activate my copy, it's a build version, but i've been running it aoubt 3 mo now and never had a prob, love it, i'm never going back to 98 or ME, i don't have a burner otherwise i could get you one.
hey bill! i hav an iea! lets make a really pretty interface and rip off mac's OS, then take all control of the OS away from the user, theeeeeeeen(get this) we'll hide copy protection software in there and prolly screw a few people within the next year, then, this is the best part, leave it easily hacked by a 10 year old

windows 95 is bettr than win me. death to ME.
christ, DOS is better than ME
You forgot to mention all the value added media software thrown in, which cripples software developers. Sure it's weak and limited, but suits most users just fine.

I can't complain though. I hate reinstalling all my software after windows crashes.
Right now I'm running Win2000 pro as the primary OS. I also have ME just for the games that refuse to work with 2000. (NFS3)And on another partition I have Win2000 server to mess around with. I am planning to upgrade to WinXP pro. Most of the anoying things can be gotten rid of I think.
Has anyone gone from win2000 to XP? What are your thoughts? I like win2000 just fine and would prefer not to deal with anti piracy stuff. Can i still pirate MS office? Is there any anti piracy stuff for non MS products?
I know people that have and I plan to. See my above post. There are and probably always will be ways around copyright protection.

There are many forms of antipiracy techniques. Go to a place called gamecopyworld.com for more information on the techniques.
