it was kinda funny today....as I went to go get my wisdom teeth removed, my dad came w/ me, and asked me if he could borrow my car for the weekend (i think he likes my car too much). Well the i.v. was stuck in me, and he said "just before you go out, can i still borrow the car?" i said yeah, and then the doctor asked what kind of car...I told him a 3000gt, and then he said he had one too! So we talked years, models and stuff... but before we could get too car-talkish, i was knocked out....
just found that kinda cool... i'll see him for a check up next week, and I'll tell him about the site...

Thats pretty cool.
Wisdom teeth suck. When i got mine cut out I was hurting for a few days.

LOL. I got my wisdom teeth yanked out by a guy who had an extrememly hot daughter. Before I went under, and still under the influence of N2O, I told the Doc how hot his daughter was and how much I wanted to fuck her. No wonder I hurt so damn much post-op.
off the hook

Thats off the hook telling the Dentists doctor you want to fuk her. I bet he did do a number on your mouth. Shit, when I got mine out I was fine that night. I was eating just like normal, really no pain at all. I didnt get NOS to knock me out. They shot some shit in my IV and I was out in a quick few seconds. It was great. Glad they are out now, they are a pain in the ass.
There is a difference folks! You can get them 1. pulled or 2. cut out( this involves cutting into the maxillary and mandibular residual ridge bone sometimes which causes a lot of pain....( yes! I was going to be a dentist at one time and got a degree in Dental Laboratory Technology)

It is a lot less painful to get them pulled rather than cut. Most Dentists will try to pull them, but in instances of exrtreme decay due to not be able to adequately clean them will most of the time result in "cutting". My cousin is an Oral Surgeon and had to cut out 3 or mine and was able to pull the last one. Needless to say, the Vicodin took care of most of my pain! :D And I got them out for free, so that saved me lots of money plus I had a professional do it. Most dentists don't specialize in the "cutting" out of wisdom teeth(3rd molars), so it's better to let a professional do it like an oral surgeon. Trust me, if you haven't had them out yet and need to then check with an oral surgeon first......

OH!! You will be told this, but DO NOT AND I REPEAT...DO NOT suck on anything like a straw, cigarette, etc.... or you will get dry sockets which is VERY PAINFUL and can result in a lot of bleeding and possibly another visit to the "DREADED" Dentist! Peace! ;)

hmmm....

Thats funny...mine were all cut out and I had no pain at all. I didnt even need the pain killers they prescribed me. I was eating and drinking like normal that night.
Had all 4 cut out same day. They didn't want to knock me out, just make me so that I couldn't feel anything. Well I did indeed fall asleep. Woke up like 2 hrs after it was over. Tried walking to the car, got dizzy and started throwing blood up.
I worked a day or two later in pain. It was my first day at the job so I couldn't exactly call in.
And yea, dont suck on straws...I've heard you can bleed to death or something.
I ate jello and tiny pieces of crushed ice for a week.

Tell me, did you in "fact" know that they were cut out? If so, then you must have a high tolerance to pain....

I bet they were pulled and you just think they were cut out.....;) My lil brother had all his "pulled" at the same time I had 3 of mine "cut" out and the other one pulled. I had to have 3 of mine cut because they were jammed so tightly in the posterior section of my mouth that I couldn't sufficiently clean them; thus resulting in severe tooth decay. Bascially I didn't even have enough tooth structure to even pull, so they had to be cut out. I was 23 when mine were cut/pulled and my lil bro was 17; so age does make a difference! :D Some people have large mandible's(lower jaw bone) that can allow the wisdoms to fit in there nicely and give plenty of room to clean them.

Unless they were severely decayed, they were pulled.......

Yes! Ice is nice a soothing plus it restricts the capillaries to minimize blood flow.... :D

hehehe!....... DO NOT EAT HOT SOUP at least until you have a good clot in the socket. I did that and I didn't have a good clot and it bled like a bitch. I knew better but I was freakin starving because I couldn't eat nothing 8 hours prior to the surgeory because I was going to be on anaesthetics....... :D
Good thing you gave your dad the keys or the doctor would have taken them while you were asleep, probably.
Red C5, did you go to the C5 bash this year?

hehehe i had 4 teeth pulled out last year, the dentist had some HOT HOT HOT HOT assitants and the whole time i was half knocked out, and i couldn't stop staring at them:D

oh and after the medication wore off, it felt like nothing had happened
Yes, I know for a fact they were cut out. The doc explained everything he was going to do before he did it. My wisdom teeth hadnt come down yet, they were still up in my gums. They were just starting to push out the sides of my gums. And another reason that I know they were cut out, is because I had stitches on both sides of my gums top and bottom where they were cut out. I was 17 when I got them cut out, Im 21 now (if that matters). And the whole procedure only took a few minutes more than a half an hour. I woke up as they were stuffing my mouth with cotton balls. I staggered over to a sort of recovery room, wanted a blanket cause I was cold, and then like 5 minutes later felt normal and left (I didnt drive myself home, my mom did that).
ahh fuck thats funny you mentioned that now.. i have two wisdom teeth just starting to grow in now.. they're just breaking the surface.. they feel huge! shit i dont wanna get those pulled!.. so they knocked you out for the procedure huh? i guess its better than watching them jam a huge pair of plyers into your mouth.. i think i'm gonna wait until they grow in at least a little so they dont have to cut them out.. provided that they dont fuck up my $4000 smile first.. ;)
I had to have mine cut out because they were under and lifting up on the molars in front of them. I was wide awake with only some novacaine. Let me tell you I have new respect for the strength of skin. That ass had his hands so far in my mouth I was sure that any moment the corner of my mouth was going to rip right open. That hurt more than anything.

Then while I got all these stitches still in my mouth I went to Taos, New Mexico on a ski trip. I'm bustin' down this huge mogul run and let my knees come up too far hitting me square in the chin. So I'm spitting all this blood out and then kept skiing for a week. Ended up with "dry sockets" and this knarly infection. Came home and had to go get the sockets packed with medicine every other day for a month. OUCH!
Didn't go to the C5 Bash, but next year definitely...
My friends went they had a lot of fun.

I owuld recommend NEVER getting your wisdom teeth pulled in bootcamp!!!

I had all 4 pulled in Navy Bootcamp. It only took about 20 minutes, but it sucked. Most of the time the dentist will give you that little numby stuff with the q-tip, but in bootcamp, you don;t get any numby stuff before they stick you with the novacain needle. That bastard just stabbed me in the mouth multiple times, I wasn't even ready for it. I think he did about 5 shots for each tooth. I don't know if it's possible, but one of the times, I felt the pain from the ouside of my jaw more than on the inside where he was sticking me. He really jabbed that f'ker in there! OH, and he broke one of my other molars from prying off it to pull out my wisdomw teeth. IT was a molar I had a root canal done on though, so the side walls of the tooth weren't all that strong. But if you are due for getting your wisdomw teeth pulled, adn going ot bootcamp, think twice about it. Well, the good thing was it was free, and I got two days to lay in bed and sleep all day in bootcamp, and they give you Ensure drinks, and lots of Vicodin.

My top wisdom teeth are completely out, but I had 2 bicuspids pulled from the top when I got braces when I was 17. On the bottom, the front half of one wisdom tooth is out, and the other is still under my gums. My teeth are really straight and my 12 front teeth (6 top, 6 bottom) are all wired in on the backside, so they won't give in and go crooked. I need to have my wisdoms removed, but I don't have dental insurance, so I'll have to wait until I do. I also have 2 front teeth that had root canals but were never crowned, and one of them broke right down the middle. I need to get a full bridge from incisor to incisor on the top because my front teeth have been knocked out and have deteriorated roots, but I don't have the money yet. Are there dental schools that do cheap or free work?
