I have a '93 3000gt base model. What is the normal position the arrow should be on the oil temp gauge. My arrow shoots up pretty high and I'm afraid the cars going to overheat or i'm ruining the engine. My rpm reads 3000 when I'm doing 80+mph and the arrow goes up pretty high.

Mine usually goes almost vertical. It's never gone any higher than that. Do you have enough oil? oil pressure? check all the other fluids too. Other than that, it might be the thermostat. Anyone else agree?

The oil gauge in a stock car is for oil pressure, not oil temp. Unless i forget the stock setup.

i took a better look at it the other night while cruising.
