So I haven't been around much lately, but I am just getting back to working on my 91 3000GT SL. I had tried to sell this car on and off, but never got any serious interest. I had decided to do the twin turbo conversion and had been slowly working on gathering parts and then my jeep came along. I just finished a frame off restoration on the jeep and am now back to the 3000GT.
I am here to barter/offer my services in exchange for twin turbo conversion parts or anything else interesting. I work on pretty much anything, but one of the common things I see others asking assitance for is suspension stuff. I can press out your ball joints, swap out your springs, etc. Most local machine shops will charge you $35 labor to swap out the ball joint on your control arms (already removed from vehicle). It is also normally about $25 per spring for swapping them out on your struts (already removed). I am willing to help you out in exchange for TT conversion parts, tools, cash, etc. Just let me know what you need and make me an offer. I'm just offering assistance / alternative to paying a shop.
I have been around these cars for a while, and met a lot of you at the past two MOD events in Bloomington. I am not an ASE certified mechanic, however I am a Mechanical Engineer. I do all my own work on my project vehicles and my friends project vehicles. As a hobby/passion on the side I do automotive design consulting etc.
I also have lots of N/A parts willing to trade from many DOHC 3000GTs. Headlights, interior parts, intakes, injectors, etc, etc, etc...
If you are looking for a reference, well check out the Jeep I just finished below...
