I have read a few threads about pistons and ceramic coating and total seal rings. It seems most of the discussions drop off without any conclusion except it is all good. It sounds like the ceramic coating is good for the top but not to get them on the sides; is this correct? What is the best brand (cheapest also) for ceramic coated pistons, and total seal rings? Best place to order also.
There was a group buy on pistons a little while back, what is up with that? Is it still on? What Pistons?
What is t he benefit of the ceramic coated pistons? I’m not going to be racing so should I spend the extra money?
If anyone has the part numbers for the total seal rings I would appreciate it also since it seems some people were not able to find it by calling.

Thanks for any help.

They're all good. Any forged piston is much better than the stockers. The cheapest are Wiseco brand pistons at $660. The include pins, locks, and Federal Mogul brand rings. Most forged pistons don't actually come from the factory ceramic coated. If you want them coated you'll probably have to have them sent out to a specialist.

do a search for member di93es and send him a PM. The group buy fell threw from a different member and I believe di93es picked it up to help the customers that were in a jam. He can get you any piston you want.
