I had my CV on the drivers side rebuilt and I put it in a few months ago. I lowered the car with intrax springs and ever since, the CV has been coating the inside of the rim with grease droplets. I took the wheel off and there are no tears in the boot at all. It seems like the grease is squirting out from under the band holding the rubber boot on (the big side right inside the wheel). I tapped the band with a hammer and screwdriver but it still leaks and the band appears tight. I used some RTV around the outside edge and that worked for a couple days then it blew out and leaks again. Could they have put too much grease in there? Is it the alignment causing this, or does the band need to be tighter somehow? Anybody have this problem?
