I was sifting through all my timeslips and noticed that my 1.8 miles times are high. Here are slips:

60'...........1.825
1/8...........8.601
mph.........79.45
1/4...........13.447
mph..........102.99

60'...........1.784
1/8...........8.589
mph.........79.42
1/4...........13.516
mph..........100.99

60'...........1.815
1/8...........8.580
mph.........79.39
1/4...........13.441
mph..........102.19

60'...........1.795
1/8...........8.853
mph.........76.34
1/4...........13.873
mph..........99.97

Shouldn't my 1/8 miles be around 8.0? If so, I think I figured out my problem. These runs were all made with a bad 2nd gear syncro. I think what may have happened is that I took too long getting it into 2nd resulting in the poor 1/8 and poor 1/8mph. If I could get the 1/8 mile down to an 8.0 then I would be running the kind of 1/4's that would make me happy.

Anyways, what are your 1/8s? Do you have any opinions on this?

BTW, all these were made with the stock fuel system at 14.5 psi.

Thanks

The runs below were on an 80-85 degree day at about 900'ASL, first time racing, also with a bad 2nd gear synchro. Only mod is an MBC set at 10 for the first 5 runs, 14 for the rest of them. No intake, no exhaust, no other mods. I did bog every single launch though.

MPH TIME
77.19 8.962
74.13 9.065
77.85 8.746
78.67 8.764
74.13 9.090
76.53 9.049
77.32 8.917
79.36 8.997
77.59 9.035
77.32 9.060
78.67 8.995
78.53 8.909

No way you should be near 8 seconds basically stock.

With an 8.0 1/8th ET you would probably have about
a 85-86 mph trap with a high 1.7x 60' time. That should
be good for a [email protected] trap through the 1/4. My best
1/8th(with bleeder and k+n) is [email protected] and ended
up with a [email protected] in the 1/4. My 60' was 1.731.
8.0's are few and far between with light mods.

They do seem to be high considering your good 60' times. On the run in my sig., 1/8 times as follows:

RT: .536
60': 1.900
1/8 ET: 8.358
1/8 MPH: 84.50

My second best run was 13.010 @ 106.20 MPH. Here are those 1/8 times:

RT .598
60': 1.928
1/8 ET: 8.384
1/8 MPH: 83.10

FWIW

Wow, yeah I misread... I didn't look at your list of mods... thought you were just running a boost controller... you should be closer to 8.0 but more than that you should be in the 12's possibly in the 1/4.

You are only .3 seconds and 1.5mph faster than me in the 1/4 and I had NO mods except for the MBC.

R/T----.630
60'----1.865
330---5.445
1/8----8.434
MPH---83.46

And...

R/T----.722
60'----1.857
330---5.470
1/8----8.449
MPH---83.61

Wasn't exactly a 'cool' day, either. I think that I can hit a lot lower given a good temp (something other than 90-100deg trackside). ;)
