Only 2 outta the 4 of my motor mounts in my base model have been replaced.

I have the new oem tranny mount and the rear mount and my plan is to put them in here shortly.

I have searched the forums for helpful tips and here is what I have gathered.

Motor will need to be supported when messing with trans mount and side engine mount.
- I have both the bar that spans the fenders and supports the motor with a chain from above and I have a transmission jack and wood I can use to support the engine and transmission from below.

My question about this is: where is the best place to bolt the chains to to support (or remove) the sohc motor?

I also gathered a tip from the forum that said "keep all motor mount bolts finger tight till all 4 bolts are in place"

The last tip I remember gathering was "keep a friend handy to help move around the motor"

Are there any other tips you would include???

I plan to remove my upper intake in order to gain good access to the rear mount.

I haven't been able to find the transmission mount. Can somebody help me locate it? Is it visible from under the hood or is it only visible underneath the car?

If you’re only doing the transmission mount and rear roll stop, you’ll only need a floor jack under the transmission. I definitely wouldn’t use an engine support for this job and you won’t need an engine hoist for just those two mounts.

You get to the transmission mount from the top. Remove your air filter housing, battery, and battery tray.

No need to remove the intake manifold, that won’t help with the rear mount. Plenty of room on a SOHC or DOHC NA.

The bolts that connect the tranny mount to the body are accessed from the PS wheel well. There are 4 rubber plugs that cover the access holes. If you don't see them then there is a shield covering them that has to be removed (I don't remember).
Good luck
