just got rps

Hey everyon, i just got an rps stage 3 and fidanza flywheel installed and damn is there a difference, i only have 13g's and my friend has 357's and i swear my car pulls way harder than his all around. anyways first i just wanted to say thanx to brian for taking care of my car while i was gone, now comes my question. after talking to a few people i have come to realize that the "chatter" you get when breaking it in is dissapating but not gone. will this "chatter" as its been called by a few be gone completely? ive driven it about 500 miles now since i had to drive back to school in AZ and there is still a little present. also why is it squeling a little while idling, i konw its the clutch because if i rest my foot on it (very gently) the noise goes away? thanx again brian

the squealing noise from the clutch sounds like the throwout bearing -- you did change it w/ the clutch/flywheel, right?

I had just about NO chattering whatsoever from mine -- maybe for the first 100 miles, but that's it.
ya im almost posative it was changed, hmm im not really sure what else could make this other than maybe didnt tighten it enough on the install ill have to call brian thanx guys
hey roger

hey roger so the rps cluch makes a difference hugh!!! i cant wait to get my car back from brian. So how is school up at asu? Did you fix your compression problem? anyway i am still without my car so i have not been up to phx lately but i should be getting it back within this month. i cant wait. anyway i tried to call you a couple of times but got no answer, i was up that way a little while ago to visit some chick and i was wondering what you were up to. anyway i am out here in san diego right now i should be back in az in about a week or so.. You said thanks to brian for taking care of your car while you were gone. what did you mean by that? i was thinking of having him hold it for me for a while when i go away in Jan. How long did he take care of it for you. anyway i just had some questions for ya.

talk to you later

I just drove my car last night for the first time with the F Flywheel, and rpsIII. The clutch is crazy tight!

My rpsII chattered for 1000 miles.

Your squeeling sound IS the throw out bearing.
RPS stage III

Sun Devil VR4,

How hard is the pedal to depress compared to stock ?
Daily driver ?

Jim
how much is the RPSIII anyways??? and where's the best place (price) to get it? Does it include the throw our bearings?? or is that something u have to buy urself??
I got mine at 3sx. I don't remember how much. The throw out bearing is something you gotta get from the dealer. They are about $35
ic... thanks, matt...

im a bit skeptical of my Centerforce DF's..... dont feel like it GRABING... but I did manage 1.8 60ft times... also, other 357 cars report breakin loose all 4 wheels from a roll or in high rpms in 1st and 2nd gear!! i can never do that.... :( maybe its my clutch... or my driving skillz... :D
hey tony whats up oh ya the rps 3 is really worth the money and to answer your question jim its a lot tighter than stock but definately still a daily driver i got mine at GT pro hmm so its my throwout bearings huh.... anyone know how to install and willing to give me some help? the only people i trust to work on my car is gt pro and id rather not drive back from az to do it tony that sux that you havent gotten a hold of me, sorry i have nokia and the service sux we definately need to hang out though i just showed my grades to my parents and they finally let me take it out to asu what i meant by taking care of my car to brian was that it was in the shop for a while when i was gone, kinda like hes been taking care of yours hehe :D dont worry about waiting for your car its worth the wait, thats what i found out, oh and no i didnt fix the compression, no $$$$ oh well one day itll be fixed well i hope to hear from you soon

Soooooo . . . any "surprise gifts" on your car when you got it back? *cough*...*Link*...*cough*...*ecu*...*cough* ;)
I am getting a flywheel and stage 3 when I get my car back together cant wait... it is a daily driver I hope I dont regret it :D
Good to hear that while it's tight it's still daily drivable. I'm waiting for my group buy RPS III and flywheel to come in (Hans, any day now right?), and was dreading that I had made a mistake regarding the drivability of the clutch.
i am putting the stage III and f flywheel on mine and it is a daily drive although it has not been driven in a while but hopefully soon. anyway roger i will try to give you a call again when i get up that way next week. Also are you going to that so cal meet in mission beech on the 9th of dec. IF my car is done by then i will definately go, but i might go without it. anyway in case you lost my number it is 1-520-246-1898
talk to you later...

I'm pretty sure that you basically have to take off the clutch again to change the throwout bearing ---- I'd be calling up GTPro quick and asking them what the deal with it is --- it should definitely have been changed when the clutch was changed; I'd be hopping mad if I was you.

My RPS III also has a little more pressure than stock, but is still definitely daily driver material.
Danf i did hear somethin about that but didnt get the full details, care to fill me in on exactly what kind of experiments my car was thrown into. and if any of them were "perhaps accidentally" left in the car hehe.
oh and tony ya ill definately be comming down to the meet in mission so if i dont talk to you by then ill see you there oh by the way i got thrown in the pool by some actives in my fraternity tonight and my phone was still in my pocket so thatll be out of commission for a few days or so see ya

roger
