AMEN shovel. It's true. A lot of people dump a bunch of money into these unproven mods and THEN go to the track. They are disappointed because they only get a 15.1-15.5. Well, that's what a stock N/A can run with an average driver. It's proven that a stock N/A can hit a 14.7 (A couple of people have). So why not a 14.4 (or whatever it was), with Drew having the K&N and perhaps better driving ability than everyone else.
As for useless mods, I believe some of the N/A mods are unnecessary unless you are planning to go for 13's or so. My goal is to someday have my N/A running perfectly with enough mods to hit low 14s. I think the most basic mods you need are Intake, Exhaust, Clutch. Those are pretty proven and not too expensive (if you go custom exhaust or VR4 exhaust, whatever). Adding on the flywheel, UDP, S-AFC, etc etc. may look good on paper (with proposed gains) but why spend all that money? You could get the three basic mods and probably run a 14.6. Probably even better. When you get all that extra stuff, the only thing you are going to have is a whole lot more assurance that you can run that time. So far, noone has TRACK-proven that the UDP/flywheel stuff will give you an extra .3 tenths or whatever. So far, the people who have these mods have all run 15's (well sorry a few may have run 14's, I don't recall any though) Either way, these mods are pretty useless if you can't run a good time.

I mostly agree with what you are saying. I was very happy to run [email protected] with what I had and no UDP. Drews car is running strong and he's a good driver.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the aesthic mod as long as you aren't spending your money and thinking it's going to be faster.

dude none of the cosmetic shit adds anyweight.. so i think you need to shut the fuck up. and when racing my stereo isnt in my car wise guy.. just the deck.. which is lighter than stock deck anyway. but it must be useless.. and a radar detector.. really useless.
and as for YOU blkstealth.. yeah i put money into an UNPROVEN mod.. why.. BECAUSE YOU DIDNT. .thats why.. ill be running at the track this weekend.. so ill post my "unproven" results..
bottom line is the car is still slow.. 14's=quick.. not fast. .
