Why's the Maf at the filter and not at the Throttle body? All this talk of BOV air loss would be moot if the MAF was at the other end of the system.
Either way the air is filtered. Of course it is getting hot air that's gone through the Turbos not normal cold air. Possibly oil too. Is that the reason?
