Hello all, I just received my ECU back from James at 3sHub after he finished the preventative maintenance and warrantied it. Seeing as I never want to remove/get the ecu worked on again, I would like to know some of the common ways the ecu gets damaged. As of now, the only thing I have read about is that a faulty Idle air controller will burn up parts of the ecu. I plan to test any and all electrical components before starting the rebuilt engine but I really wanted other people to chime in on what I can do to make sure this ecu stays in the best shape it can. (Even though there is a 3 year warranty attached to the ecu now, I do not want to send it through customs again and delay starting or driving the car) Thank you in advance. Also this is a 9966 TT ecu if that matters.

I'm not an electrical guru by any means, but common sense tells me:

Keep it out of extreme cold and heat (whether in the car or storing it outside of the car.)
Don't reverse the battery connection.
Fix all electrical gremlins (or as they come and go), the chain always breaks at it's weakest link.
