I swapped the tranny in my TT Stealth using only hand tools, jack stands, a big floor jack, and hand tools. I lowered the tranny out by myself on the jack but needed my cousin's help to get it back in (He jacked it up while I guided it in).
I didn't time the project but it was time consuming but not all that difficult overall. As with any project, most of the time is spent on those annoying little frozen bolts and the bolts which you need to be double-jointed to get at.
I didn't have the shop manual at the time I did it but I'm sure it would help you if you had one. I used a reapir manual (Chilton or Haynes, I forget) for a Talon AWD turbo as the setup is basically the same.
