When: Saturday, October 17th (and 18th)
Where: Hocking Hills area, Ohio

A facebook page for the event is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1637475499842212/

Here is the schedule and route for Saturday and Sunday:

Saturday:

11:00 am: Meet up at Walmart off of US 33 in Logan, OH

We will not be making any stops for food or gas, so make sure you fill your gas tank beforehand, and bring along any snacks and drinks you want to hold you over until dinner.

11:15 am: Depart for cruise.

Here is a proposed map of the route: https://goo.gl/maps/oR6QqYk3aRu

Our cruise will begin heading north through the beautiful Wayne National Forest. We will continue on through the area and then south through Nelsonville, eventually turning back west towards the Hocking Hills area.

We will then head up to Hocking Hills State Park, where we will make a stop at Old Man's cave - the most popular stop in the Hocking Hills area. We will begin at the Lower falls and continue our hike through the cave to the Upper Falls. It is approximately a 1 mile walk.

Our cruise will continue through the area, as we head over to the Rock House.

Our route will resume as we work our way back up to US33. From there we will head over to the campground so that those who are camping can set up their tents.

6:00 pm: Dinner at Millstone BBQ in Logan.

We will be camping out Saturday evening at Hocking Hills Adventures. I will probably book two campsites for the group, enough for 6 tents. We can hang out, bs around a fire and so on. I will bring stuff to make s'mores and popcorn. Keep in mind that it is October, and overnight temps could get a bit chilly.

Sunday:

10:30 am: Check out from campground

11:00 am: Breakfast/Brunch somewhere?

12:00 pm: We will head over to the Conkle's Hollow State Nature Preserve. Here we will stop for a hike up to the top of Conkle's Hollow and around the rim trail, where you will be treated to amazing views of the valley below. It is approximately a 3 mile hike and should take a couple hours, depending on our speed.

Cant go this year, but the last two years were a BLAST. Foxystealth does a great job of organizing and we have had a lot of fun on 4 wheels and two legs. Grab your camera, your girlfriend, some snacks and come have some fun.

For anyone interested in camping out with us on Saturday night please let me know ASAP!! I am getting ready to make the reservations, so I will need to know how many sites to book.

We will be staying at Hocking Hills Adventures
Hocking Hills Adventures

We can fit 2-3 tents per site. Cost should be about 15-20 per tent.

Just a heads up - This is a primitive campground. Campsites have no electric. There is no modern bathhouse by the campsites, only porta-potties (there is a bathroom/shower up by their office but it closes at 10pm.)

We can hang out around the campfire, and I'll bring stuff for popcorn and smores.

On Sunday we will have breakfast/brunch, and then head over to Conkles Hollow to hike the rim trail. It is a 3-4 mile very scenic and beautiful hike! Should take a couple hours, depending on our speed.

Just some reminders for everyone coming out tomorrow:

We will not be stopping for food or gas along the cruise, so make sure you fill your gas tanks up and grab snacks or whatever food you want to hold you over until dinner. Actual driving time along the cruise will probably be about 2 1/2 hours, so make sure you have enough gas in you tank to make it that long.

If you have a FRS radio, bring it along. We can use these to communicate on the cruise. Cell service is pretty much zilcho in the Hocking Hills area, so your phone may useless a good part of the time.

Wear or bring shoes you can hike in. No, we will not be doing crazy off trail stuff or anything, but we do walk on dirt trails and over rocks, so wear something you won't mind if it gets a little dirt/dust on.

Everyone is welcome to come back to the campground with us after dinner. We will have a fire to keep toasty, and I'll bring stuff to make popcorn and s'mores. Bring a camp chair and any snacks and beverages you want. Dress warm, it will be cold at night.

If you want to camp with us, you better pack warm clothes and blankets. It's going to be cold tomorrow night. Don't want anyone freezing to death!

That's all I can think of for now. Even though the weather will be a little chilly, it will be sunny, and most importantly, DRY!!

See you guys there!!
