Ok I thought I should get my shit together after settling into our new place and put some words and pics together about my car. The main reason I'm starting this is to hopefully return some of the inspiration I have taken form other local members builds.

Ok a bit of history. Purchased the car in October 2010. Car was stock except for a 3 inch catback.

Had a few minor issues;

Damaged LHS side mount squashed from a minor bingle.

Speakers were shot.

Any air that came out of the vents smelt so rank its not funny.

Here she is the day bought her..... A beautiful day.

So I replaced the speakers and a bit later the headunit and put an amp in to power the speakers. After playing around with the amp settings I now had decent beats I still thing the $90 Clarion HU is holding me back.

Next thing I did was fit a cxracing front mount kit. Which sorted my damaged SMIC issue. Also Removed the aircon at this stage to make fitting easier... That was a bloody hot summer haha.

^^The Cooler is sitting a fair bit higher now and the foggys have been removed.

One plus was I found the source of the hideous smell. It was a buildup of rare Japanese fungii growing on the evaporator core. Like little mushrooms or something. :S

Pulled that out and threw it away along with the other components. (still have the compressor just gotta pull it out if anyone wants?)

In this form I just enjoyed the car with a little more boost while I researched turbo upgrades, fuel upgrades, afc etc.

Somewhere around this time I installed a few gauges and got my evoscan data logger good times. Got a shipment of stuff from 3SX. 550cc injectors, walboro fuel pump, something else.. maybe a WB02 sensor for the jaycar wideband thing a made... Waste of money now running LC1.

Decided on 13t WRX cores for my turbo upgrade. Got a couple off ebay ummed and arred and even though they were in good nic I re-built them and took them down to MTQ in Sydney for balancing and had the exhaust bored out to fit the L turbine wheel.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND MTQ was about a 2 or 3 hundred to balance and port both turbos! GCG wanted something ridiculous like 1200 each to balance and port.

So this is where the old girl spent the next few weeks while I installed turbos, fuel mods AFC Neo. Was having a lot of rain around this time and because i lived in the garage the trust tarp had to suffice.

Re: GTWHOA's Better late then never build thread.

Install was pretty straight forward. I wanted the front turbo clocked aiming up to reduce pipe length and clutter. This meant a piece of alloy had to be mated to the compressor to mount the WRX wastegate actuator. I hade to get my mate Luke to help me on this one with his leet fabbing skills.

Re: GTWHOA's Better late then never build thread.

So with the turbos fitted up and a basic tune in the AFC Neo I was happily boosting around with minimal/no knock at 14psi with a quick spike to about 16psi. Wasn't happy with the spike rigged up a little pressure tester just a small tyre compressor before the throttle body and a pipe between the turbo intakes.

Fixed a few leaks and Holy crap talk about a free mod car felt completly different as it came on boost in second front would lift and be on the edge of traction all for a few turns of a phillips head.

This didn't fix the spike but fixed the slight boost drop off. I ended up doing the TB shaft seals at a later date.

Now a pretty exciting day. First time to WSID to drag my car was pretty pumped. That first time at the staging lights will never leave me :)

Managed a best of 12.4 with 235 el cheapo rego tyres on the front.

Re: GTWHOA's Better late then never build thread.

The night was called off early due to rain. So drove the 2 hour trip home. Mike came to watch but it was called off even before the start time so was lucky to get a few runs in.

Now being pretty happy with my car at this stage I just wanted a nice cet of enkeis, lean out the tune a tad and EBC. And call it a day. So I got the Greddy profec spec 2. this cured my boost spike. :D

Oh and a Turbosmart FPR.

Can be seen in this pic i took today.

Then what... Yeah just cruising with this setup for a few months.

Sydney cruise.

Clutch started slipping at times So I got a Spec stage 3 off ebay and the my clutch healed itself. So left the stock one in for now. Cleaned up my engine bay and tidied up wiring repainted valve cover and intake.

Re: GTWHOA's Better late then never build thread.

All was well for a few months bought an AEM meth kit ready to install when the gf and I moved into our new place with a HUGE SHED!! no more working out in the elements.

One day I was driving along and was in a bingle. Story is in here.

Was a bit delirious and just started pulling all my guards and kit off.

Ah that's a mate evo 7 wing just sitting there lol was trying to see if that style of wing would suit.
i was thinking doing the same thing! i actually like the look :)
my mate is looking at upgrading to an evo9 wing and said if he does i can take his wing :)

This is something i REALLY need to do! can you post up your rigged tester?
keen to learn how you did it.

Some turbo heat sheilds made from stuff from supercheap.

This i should try and do this week :) looks better than the stock heatshields anyway.

Other than that your car (my car's twin) is coming along awesome! have you decided what your going to do about the body?
IRC Harry (shitty mechanic that owns a GTO and has a neighbouring business who also owns a GTO in Carlingford) has some spare fenders at his shop. might be worth hitting him up. just dont ask HIM to do anything on your car :p and dont tell him I sent you ;)
