Does anybody have a file recorded of what the greddy type s blow off valve sounds like on our cars or know where I can hear one? I have the Blitz super sound now but I keep hearing that the type s is better. I like the sound of the blitz and was wondering what the type s or HKS super sequential sounds like. If anybody knows where I can hear either one please let me know. Thanks

Here is a clip of mine in the closed loop setup. I now vent mine to the atmosphere, so it is even more annoying. :)

More loud?

:p
hey ruiner, did you have any bad effects from venting into the atmosphere? (IE rough idling)
Does anyone know the part number for that stupid flange?

Nope, idles fine and there is still a little over 1/4" of thread showing on the top of the BOV. Probably almost 1/3" or so. I would suggest resetting your ECU after you do the change. It will idle rough (and possibly stall) at first, but then the ECU will learn and be okay. I don't stall and the car runs very well. (Although I can smell the fuel a little more).

Look on GTPro.com
Been there done that. Its not there. AAM thinks that it has to be welded on and I know then, that they are not understanding what I am talking about. I actually got a reply from greddy with the part number but deleted it, when I asked a second time, they all of a sudden didn't know. I can't win.
GTpro may have it in stock but wants like 40 plus shipping. That is way too much.
Go HKS SSQV...

Can't even tell you how impressed I am with this product.

And as far as loud? I would say it is three times as loud as my Greddy Type S venting to the atmosphere.

And as far as sound? It sounds much better. A quick sharp blow off chirp.

And as far as revving the car? I could never hear my Greddy but if I rev my car up to 2.5K RPM, you can hear it chirp.
OK here is the stupid page:

which one is it?
Thanks Ruiner. Your car sounds good! I have the blitz and its kinds of loud but its more of a woosh. I think I like the chirp better though. I wonder if I remove the stock blow off valve it will make the blitz louder? You dont by chance have a clip or sound of your blow off valve now that its open atmoshphere do you? Does anyone have a type s or HKS SSBOV open atmosphere sound clip recorder?

If memory serves me right, I do believe that it is a 29mm tube because the hose is 30mm.

So this would be your adapter:

11900483 Outlet Adapter 29mm S $15.00

Here is what GTPro's adapter looks like:

Lui, the Greddy flange is too big. I got one in for you, but it wouldn't fit the stock hose. If you get a new hose it will fit, but then you have to figure out how to get it to fit the y-pipe securely. GTPro has their own flange for the type S. It's just a piece of aluminized steel welded to a flange that fits the greddy bov.
Hey Ruiner, what type of flange do you have, a greddy or gtpro's?
So what you are saying Hans, is that the part 11900483 will not fit our cars? But Ruiner just stated the demintions for our pipes. I am still a bit confused.
Those are outlet adapters (the part that goes into the funky intake tube), what you need is the mounting flange. The mounting flange can be gotten from GTPro. Greddy only has one size in that flange, mainly to weld onto the IC pipe. They make those in steel and aluminum.
isn't that what I would need, a outlet adapter? What is the need for the mounting flange for? Does anyone have a pict? The pict that Ruiner shows is the outlet adapter or mounting flange?
See how the BOV has no place for a hose to connect to it until you put on that mounting flange. That's why you need one :). The outlet goes into the funky intake tube while the mounting flange would fit into the hose that goes to the y-pipe. The BOV vents into the funky intake tube hence the name outlet adapter :). The mounting flange that Greddy sells is usually to be welded onto the IC pipe, that's why they sell them in steel and aluminum. Since the size of those mounting flanges are too large, GTPro made some that were smaller. What you can do is buy the Greddy flange and cut the pipe part off of it, take it to a welder and have them weld on the correct sized pipe. Or you could buy it from GTPro :).
