i am looking at a 93 vr4 with 80,000 miles. assuming that it does NOT need any work, what is a good price to pay? just out of curiosity, how much does it cost to replace getrag trans?
thanks,

I would say I good price to pay would be between $14,500 and $15,500. I would go with the lower estimate if it does need a new tranny. I don't know how much they cost to replace though.

Just picked up my 93 RT/TT 2 days ago for $8K. after looking for over 3 months I know this is a really good deal. Car only had 60,000 Miles. If you are patient and look long enough you can find good deals out there. Bargain with them too. The guy I was dealing with was asking $10K OBO and came down to $8K. Wasn't very good at hiding the fact that he had to get rid of it NOW! Good luck.

I'm not as generous. Another guy on the board bought a 93 RT TT with 60k miles for 8 grand. Sweet deal. I would go as high as 9500 if cherry, 8000 if getrag is ill (need $1800. for replacement from Kormex plus labour).

Hey Kevin,

There's a '92 or '93 Cherry Red VR-4 for sale here in Cincinnati, OH. 53,000 miles. They're asking ~$14K for it. I have no idea how good a shape it's in mechanically or if the timing belt job was done, but the body looks mint! E-mail me if you want me to look into it for you at: [email protected]

Thanks again for the tires!

I bought my newfound friend this past June.

a red Stealth 93 R/T TT.
fully loaded
sunroof
24500 miles on the odometer
7/70K warrantee expires in June 2000.

price: $15.3K US

Can't say I got the best deal in the world. I paid what it was worth and I'm happy with it.

I could have instead bought a 92 with 85000ish miles for $8K-$9K.

I have a 93 VR4 with 48K miles for sale. Don't have to worry about the tranny because I just had a new tranny, transfer and clutch installed at the mitz dealer along with 45K miles service and fairly new tires. Over $9,000 put into the car within 12 months..You can have it for $15,000.

P.S. Something is fishy on the 93TT for $8K. Sometimes if it sounds too good it must be eh. A dealer would give me $11K or better for that car cash if nothing was wrong with it. Somebody is getting a ride on this one or just likes to give up cash.... I wouldn't use that as a reasonable price.
