Have to modify the crossover pipe for the turbo manifold, and order what ever other small misc things that always pop up when you're just about to crank the car...

That thermostat, can you explain why you didn't use stock , and such? Thanks man

#8 ·
It's cooler than stock.
This.

I researched it and installed it long ago, so i do not remember the degree. I do know it worked out perfect in the middle of the Louisiana summer with ducting, ac, and a vent cut in the hood. I'm debating on getting a fresh one for this new build since that one has just been sitting.

I'll have to look into it

How much power are you trying to make? e85 im assuming because of the huge injectors?
Yes, e85. Aiming for 1k+

What material is that billet crank made of?

#19 ·
Be careful with this motor check and recheck multiple times, i have 4.0L with custom crank. The motor half ass was put together the crank shaft counter weights are hitting the bottom of the pistons.

Love the JDM tails and GTC-500!

i MEAN, We can work out a deal.......E92 M3's are pretty awesome - I haven't driven one yet, but I drove a E60 M5 *extensively* and Imagine they are slightly slower (specifically straight line), but all around better version of that...

There's a E60 M5 for sale right down the street from me. The v10 sounds really good, but it's somewhat slow and I hear they're nothing but problems. I thought about it and discussed it with a buddy of mine and im over the M3 i believe. My 335i is already FBO so it's faster than an M3. I just need the suspension bits and LSD and it will handle like an M3. Imy going to start getting that stuff and upgrade to a single after the vr4 is done.

I have never like any other spoiler on a 3000gt other than the stock ones...... but the one you put on actually is really good looking with the car. I must say that's a first for a 3S. Good pick man!
Thanks. I also have the correct mounts on it so that it does not bend the trunk.

Gates racing belt for the 74?
No sorry, that was a part I had for the 3.0 when I was building it. I just must have overlooked it when doing the list.

Looks good chap. 2 things though, Owen development adivsed me to switch up from 2 x Tial 38mm wg's to 2 x 44mm when looking to run 1100+hp. I see you only list 1 x 44mm.

If you lift the heads / start to see coolant push, pm me.

André
At the moment, my manifold only has one spot for a wastegate. I figure I would start with the 44 and see how the car acts.

I will certainly do that, I was just ready to get this thing together to actually drive it for a while.

I have already spoken with Andre and Ray about it.

Andre really wanted me to wait until he proves it's a definite fix on his new build, but did give me the option to purchase the fix from him.

Ray doesn't believe I will run into the issue if I don't get aggressive with the timing.

I chose to wait and see if I'm going to run into the issue because of two reasons:
1)If I don't have a problem with it then great, more power to me.
2)If I waited any longer for parts to arrive, machine work, etc, I would have parted the setup and sold the roller to move on to something else. The car has been down too long already and I'm ready to drive it again.

I have access to a shop and all my tools, so pulling and taking the engine back apart will take no time at all. I won't mind it being down for just a little while because I would have driven it and know what it's capable of. It would also be a perfect time to swap anything I think would need changing, like the turbo, valve train, oil pump gears for example.

Finally got the car up to my work. Feels good to be working on it again.

This weekend I decided to remove stock fuel and evap lines, clean, strip, and recoat the underside of the car as well as finally mounting the exhaust and oil cooler. Every bolt, sheild, hanger, ect. was scrubbed clean while off.

I believe the downpipe at came with the single manifold is only 3 inch right now. I have not measured that yet. Eventually it will get a 4" downpipe, but as of now it is not in the plans. Unless of course I run into an issue because of the taller deck height like I will have to deal with soon with the crossover pipe.
