AWESOME find Raja!

If you call, please find out the color, as well as the condition of paint/body/engine/trans/drivers side leather/dash vents/etc. Also ask how long the engine mods have been on it, what boost level has been run, and if there are any other mods on it besides the Hennessey ones.

Oh yeah, find out if it if the build date on the doorjamb is after 5/93.

5-speeds came on 93's. 1994 was the first year of the 6-speed.

PLEASE keep me updated Raja - this car is exactly what I've been looking for for so long. Let's hope it's an awesome color ;) ::fingers crossed::

BSWhelchel I am going to check out the car tomorrow as the owner was out of town today. But I did ask him the color and it's RED. Stay tuned for the update on the car tomorrow *hopefully*...I will also try to negotiate the price down a bit :)

well *%#)[email protected]#$% I'm not a big fan of red. I don't know if I could own a red sports car, just not my style. I like the Stealth to look kinda 'stealth'.

Unless you can bargain him down a few thousand bucks to where I can afford to repaint the car as soon as I get it! :D :D :D

The car is beautiful. He bought it a year and a half ago and it had 56K miles on it and now it has 77.5K miles. He is the second owner I believe (or atleast that's what he told me) He got a brand new stock clutch when he bought it and has the 60K miles service done. Also asked him if he raced ppl and he said maybe once in a while, but NEVER from a stop..just highway punches from around 70+ mph..:D

Now to answer a few of your Questions

please find out the color
Ext : Red
INT: Black

as well as the condition of paint/body/engine/trans/drivers side leather/dash vents/etc.
paint is good condition, no scratches that I could see. Body has some minor dings (2-3), nothing major. Engine, looks, sounds, runs good. Transmission, shifted REALLY good :), I mean there was no notchy feeling, no grinding, NOTHING at all. Driver Side leather, I don't know if you meant drivers side seat, but it was not in too bad of a shape. Actually in much better condition than many newer cars I have seen. Dash Vents, umm I THINK they were fine as well.

Also ask how long the engine mods have been on it, what boost level has been run, and if there are any other mods on it besides the Hennessey ones.
The Mods have been on the car since NEW. He didn't know ANYTHING about BOOST. So the car has been running the boost levels whatever was set at Hennessey. It did have a Boost Controller and a Turbo Timer. But I think I hit only around 13.7 - 14.0 lbs *i never got the tach above 4100 rpms*. But judging how the car drove, and how HE drove, I think he pretty much babied it. And Nope no other mods on the car other than the Hennessey ones. I'm pretty sure it still has Cats and pre-cats on (didn't sound like my 94Vr4 at all) there even though it has an Hennessey exhaust, that's a shame though :D

Oh yeah, find out if it if the build date on the doorjamb is after 5/93
I knew I was forgetting something.

Well he is not TOO flexible on the price. But he is a bit. But if you had like $13.7K or so in cash, he most probably will take it (again judging from the way he reacted when I asked him about the price). I didn't try to negotiate too much as I am not in the market and it would just be leading him for me to come across a really serious buyer.

Excellent work Raja. Thank you very much for checking out the car in detail and reporting on the things I asked for. It sounds too cherry to resist...maybe I can live with red  I guess I could spend the repaint money on one hell of a radar detector system ;)

Thanks again!

  I personally think red is the nicest color (besides the funky maroon that was offer in only one year) on Stealth's. Whem it's rainy and/or cloudy the car literally glows red. I also like blue and that neon yellow as well but it only seems to come on automatic NA's...

Where is the car located? I assume KS also? What was included in the Hennessy pkg? By chance have any pics? What did "going back home" mean? Does the guy have to sell it quick?
Thanks,
Clayton

Yes the car is Located in KS. From what he told me (I asked for the spec sheet and he didn't have it on him or in the car) 13G turbo's, injectors (size I don't know), Exhaust, Intake (air filter, smaller then K&N FIPK), Boost controller, Turbo Timer. That's what I noticed. Everything else looked pretty much stock. It would be best to call the guy personally and ask him about the Hennessey package. He did say it was Stage 7 Package. Yes he is going back home to Bulgaria, but he is NOT in a big rush to sell it off. So if you are thinking of offerring him around $12K or so I am kinda sure he will Not take it. :)

Useful Info

I was the second owner of this VR-200 until I traded it in for a Montero Sport last October. I had also performed the 60k maintenance before I traded it in -- at about 65k. They only gave me $10,500 for it and the guy who's now selling it got it for $11,000. I know all this because he worked at the dealership and told me he could buy it for $500 over trade-in.

I lost a lot of money when I traded it in but after 9 months of ads in newspapers and several web sites I got fed up with people coming over for test drives, telling me how great the car was and never calling back. Plus we needed a family vehicle soon.

With all that said I don't think the car should sell for over $10,000.

I even still have the moonroof cover. If you end up buying it, let me know if you want it and I can sell it to you for a nominal price. I also have the fax from Hennessey sent to the original owner.

Wow, that is useful information! I was also considering this car, but I just don't like the dodge red....too light of a color and looks orange in bright light. I have some pics that the owner sent me if anyone else is interested. If you need any other "info" about the car email me at [email protected], I was able to talk with him several times about the car.

I guess he lied to me..he told me he was the 2nd Owner. Ofcourse that could have been easily discovered by running the VIN through car fax. But how could he just say that to my face.. Now I feel stupid for giving other people false info and apologize for that.

Hey Stefan maybe you should give us some inside information about how the car drove when you traded it in. I drove the car and it seemed to be in a really good condition. ANd also what mods did it have on it?

First of all, it is a Stage 6 (VR-200) and not a Stage 7 which is more expensive and faster. Click here to view mods and prices for a VR-200: VR-200 Price List .

My list looks the same. Everything up to and including Stage 6 is included. I added the turbotimer myself.

The car drove great at all times. I was putting off the 60k maintenance until the water pump started leaking at about 65k. That's when I took it to Mission Amoco for maintenance -- they only charged me about $800 -- I still have the original receipt.

It also needed new tires when I traded it in -- it still had the original Good Year Gatorbacks on it. Did you see if the tires have been replaced recently?

Neither the original owner nor myself have ever allowed smoking in the vehicle but I doubt that is the case now.

I talked with him several times about the car, and each time he would say it didn't need anything and that it was a stage 7 car. He also acted clueless about the boost, fuel controller stuff, etc. The first time I talked to him I offered him $13,500 cash, and he asked if that was all I could pay at the time and I told him that was my limit no matter what car I was buying.

After a couple of days he finally managed to email some pictures to me, one from the from and 2 from the rear. The car looked pretty good although the pics were rather poor quality. I again asked him about the price and he said he wouldn't take no less than $14k cash.

My opinion is, a good condition Stealth can be had for 1000's less, then if the turbos go you can add 13G's for the same price as stock and have almost the same car (minus the fuel enhancements). This thought and after reading Stefan's post about the car, i decided to back out.
