Hi all!

I picked up a carfax account when I was shopping for my new 1991 VR4, but I don't have all that much use for it now.

I thought I'd help out the community a bit by offering it to anyone who needs to run one.

My mail address is: [email protected]

Just my way of giving back a bit!

Have fun!

1B3XG74A9KG157821 would be MUCH apreciated...

i would've emailed you but this is looking like it has the chance to become a real horror story, so i figured i'd post it. it's for my recently acquired Shelby Daytona.

Thursday, November 1st, 2001: drive ~70miles with my dad to look at the car after calling on it from an ad in an autotrader magazine. pull up to discover they're mopar guys. a couple beautiful RoadRunners and a mint condition '68 GTX, so i'm just happy to be there. the Daytona is owned by a kid my age(18-20). we talk to him a bit, and take it for a test drive. everything seems fine. i decide to buy it. he says he was just about to clean the throttle body etc., so he can do that if we want to pick it up on saturday. it seems like he knows what he's doing, so i comply.

Saturday, November 3rd, 2001: drive 70miles, pick up car, drive it home 70miles(up Michigans beautiful Freeways through Detroit  ). get it home and almost immediately pop the hood to start the regular maintenance (change oil, wires, plugs, coil) and now it starts to get good. small things first...
-change oil...he had a Fram oil filter on there:rolleyes: ...not a big deal.
-notice an upper intercooler hose clamp missing...wtf?
- begin to open airbox, extremely oily airbox gasket falls completely out:confused: , look inside airbox...NO AIR FILTER??? WTF?
-take a good look at the hood and realize that it hasn't been buffed or sanded as i was suspecting was the reason it looked all faded and swirled...it seems as though there's a thick layer of now hardened Rubbing Compound covering the entire hood...?

Sunday, November 6th, 2001: buy IC hose clamp and air filter, apply them to car, then take it for a quick spin... now... the guy told me that the drivers side power window motor wasn't working and that the window was stuck in the up position...
-while driving car @ 55mph, hit a small bump in the road, drivers side window falls down.:(... drive home, inspect it and realize the motor works fine, the damn track is broken and the window was not stuck in the up position, it was held in by little pieces of rubber wedged in the corners.

Monday, November 12th, 2001: go to change PCV valve, bump a vacuum line over the fuel rail and observe it break off of the T.
-attempt to remove T, break another T further down the line.
-realize that all of the vacuum hoses, as well as the lower radiator hose are all dry rotted and hard and shitty as hell!

that's where i'm at now:p . i'm not too worried about all this seeing as how i only payed $1300 for the car. i'm just now wondering if something strange happened to this car seeing as how it's 12 years old, and only has 91k miles on it and the lines are ALL dry rotted and the paint on the roof/rear deck is so badly pealed and what's up with the rubbing compound?
