Got home... ran to the car... started it... (recall that it seemed I had engine damage prior to the new bearings and I thought it was probably kaput)

The car ran... oil pressure fine... no oil leak/smoke.... got my father-in-law in there to listen for knock (used to be mechanic) and after 5 minutes... he said- I hear a lot of tappet/lifter noise... a little chatter off the clutch... I don't hear ANY knock...

WOO HOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I just sold my FIPK to Roger Ludwig before I left (hope ya likes it!) I am running a CAI with dual filters and pipes when I can con the cash off my wife.

In related news... I paid off the Stealth!!!!!!! A YEAR EARLY!

But now the not so good-

left for NJ early OCT... My car had it's problem, so we took the wifes 96 Sebring Vert... made it to IN where I bought an 89LeBaron GTC 2.2L 5spd Turbo Vert- 5 minutes after I bought the LeBaron - for $800 - the Sebrings AOD tranny blew!!! We took the 250,000 mile bone stock LeBaron on to NJ... and left the Sebring with friends who were going to drive it to the tranny shop where we'd learn what is wrong... make it to NJ in the LeBaron- no hassles- and while we are there we discover a huge concrete rock in the road- nice dime sized hole in the oil pan... so all 3 vehicles in one day in three states are totally undriveable. Get the hole fixed... drive back to IN leaking oil... 1qt in 100 miles of driving- 15qts total leaked on america's highways- and we get to the tranny shop where we bought a used tranny for $525 (34,000 miles) and had it installed $250- and we find that the front end of the Sebring is mashed!!!!! Find out that on the way to the shop- a lady hit it- my friends had been trying for 3 weeks to get ahold of us to tell us!!! There is NOTHING broken or bent- all pieces look fine... just 2 inch gap between EVERYTHING!!! Entire front half of the frame is bent down and to the left! So... we run the LeBaron all the way back home... expecting to find that the Sebring gets totalled....

What is the point?

How do you Spyder owners like your car... particularly you VR4 spyder owners? Wind noise? How much backseat/trunk space is there REALLY!?!?

Not sure if we can hack the payments.... but she wants a Vert without wind noise... I want her in AWD Turbo... There is ONLY 1 choice- VR4Spyder!!!!

Anyway... I'll keep you updated on the Stealth, and hopefully have pics, Dyno and 11 second 1/4 times soon...

Ahhh... life is good :D

Congradulations on getting the Stealth paid off. Its nice to actually OWN the car. :D

Love the Spyder! Wind noise is not much different then my coup (with the top up) Forget about the back seat. With the top up, there is even less room then the coup.
omg, that is crazy shit happening with those cars....I think they're cursed!
Sweet! I tried that once tried to drive my car with a big hole in my tranny and she just locked up. Didn't work for me.
That's just cause you didn't have an oil IV runing directly into your tranny like Ryan does. lol
Collectors Item

where I bought an 89LeBaron GTC 2.2L 5spd Turbo Vert- 5 minutes after I bought the LeBaron - for $800 -

A turbo LeBaron than runs:eek:
Now thats a rare car. If I remeber right the turbos are oil cooled only. I know several people who have blown turbos on them. I think most LeBaron owners were not car fanatics.

But if it has that many miles on it somebody must have took good care of it.
Awww, come on Ryan...you know she want's a black VR-4. Spyders weigh too much! :p
finally back online...

Trevor... maybe if I can head up and see it... let her drive it... maybe... just maybe we can talk :D

John... actually- the car was pretty abused... it lived it's whole life in Morgantown, IN and for the last 5 years had only the oil changed on it...

I poured $200 into in thermostat, oil, filter, air filter, PCV, cap, rotor, plugs, coil, O2, new vac lines, tranny fluid... etc...

the car has been beaten up and it still has no problems... I love it! looks like crap, but nice enough for working

and Yes, my tranny does have a full time IV and it has SOO helped ;)

Anyway... I am trying to confirm no knocking and no problems... but I am heading to Trinidad (again!) Monday morn... more later...
