when i bought my car, the foglights didnt work, and the guy told me that he didnt fix them because you needed to buy the whole new assembly. is this true???? there is no way to replace the bulb?
no, im not totally sure of the reason, but the bulbs seam like a good place to start, cuz its the least expensive fix i can think of. do you know the size that the bulbs are?
H3 bulbs. All aftermarket H3 bulbs come with a square flat connector and our connectors are round so you would have to take some plyers and fold the flat connector as much as you can so that it can fit into the harness.
Crimp on some bullet connectors if you want to do it right. Or, for a permanant fix, cut off the factory female barrel connector and crimp on a female spade terminal. That way all new H3's will fit with no more modification.
True , but how often do i replace bulbs? These have lasted 2 years already. And also i'd just rather not cut the the Original harness and crimp on another connector. But your way and my way get the same result so its all good.
the stock ones are 55W. I use 85w ones cause like you said the 100w ones last a few months only.
check out the pic below. My car is the one on the right. Compare my fogs to the one on the left. He is running the stock ones and i am running 85w.
