On occasion when I start up my 91 Stealth R/T TT the rpm's won't hold up. It starts, but unless I gas the hell out of it the rpm's will drop and i'll stall out. Depressing the clutch helps little. This problem only happens on start up. Any ideas why this happens? Is something dying out? (my car does have 225K+ miles so wouldn't suprise me)

My 93 Base Stealth had tha problem a couple of months ago. But mine was all the time. had to keep my foot on the gas or it would die. The problem was the Idle Control Motor. I replaced that and it fixed it. Now my ECU has crapped out. Oh well, it's always something.

Another FWIW --- my 93 TT would occationally refuse to idle when cold. I could nurse it up to 2000 rpm and keep it there until the engine was warm and it would be fine. It finally got to the point that it would do it all the time --- I pulled the ECU and found that the board had the dreaded leaky capicators. I replaced the caps and the problem disappeared.
