ok i sorta have an idea floating around just wanna know if anyones done it...

I just dont like the idea of crowding the dash and removing vents to add things like guages and stuff like that.
so what i was wondering is if anyone has put in or made like a pod for guages that ataches to the ceiling or just put in something like a turbo timer into the ceiling.

well i want to put in my turbo timer behind the light module and make it flush with the ceiling. I just want to know if anyone has done it and have any pics of it for me to see. And maybe a few opinions would be good to make sure im not missing any thing.

oh btw the way my goal is to make the interrior to look like a cockpit when im done...
sorry for the length!:D

do a search for a member named smokinvr-4. He does many custom applications such as Blitz SBC-ID boost & power meter combo in the interior lighting pod etc. If your looking for something custom I'd send him an email.

If you guys are looking for this sort of thing why don't you talk with Kyle (smokin'vr4). He's come up with some pretty innovative things. I'm sure if you could draw it out he could make it. Check him out he's probably selling something right now in the Parts section.

I'll be custom mounting my remote radar detector indicator in the headliner of the car, was hoping to have it done by this weekend by is gonna have to wait till later, the interior guy is burnt out right now.

There just isn't much room to mount extras up there as the headroom is limited and it has to be in front of your eyes somewhere to be any good. Looked for places to install the dsbc up there but finally decided to dash mount it.

I've got my own interior guy, who does headliners. I have an Escort 8500 hardwire kit that gives a remote indicator and mute button, and it will be mounted near the left visor. He would have done it already, but he was doing a full restification of an interior for a 57 chevy in time for the Turkey Rod Run, which was what my goal was as well, and since I'm getting a break on costs I give way to profit jobs.
I'm 6 feet plus and there isn't much head room to install units, maybe in the center area.

I am 6'1" as well and there really isn't much room for any guages on the ceiling.

I have a little project going on with something similar that will hold 3 guages. I am sure a lot of people will want them as they will just screw into place and be almost undectable unless you are inside the car. Nice sleeper look but easily seen from anywhere in the car.

I have a prototype made up out of cardboard and aluminum and when I get it just the way I want it I will send it to someone that can work with either aluminum or fiberglass to make me a nice one.

If you think nyou can help, let me know and I'll talk to you about it.
