Hi, there is a metal plate on my ATX passager side, I want to take it off and treat the rust but seems there is a gasket under it.
So what is the name (or part number) of this? Is there any ATF in it? Will the gasket under it still be available?

It’s called differential cover and yes it has a gasket and fluid will come out if transaxle is still filled with fluid. Don’t know part numbers of it or the gasket, but I’m sure the gasket is still available since the F4A33 transmission has been used if many even later years Mitsubishi’s.

That could be preped and painted in position, unless you are removing to powder coat, or addressing a leak that is not shown. If you rattle can the paint I recommend gloss black chassis & grille. Harbor freight carries this.

You're right, I'd better just wire brush it and paint it in position, thanks
