Yes, I know one of the LEDs is burned out...my dumbass bought LEDs a tad too large to put next to each other so I had to Dremel them all down a bit and I guess I got a little too happy grinding that one down...

And yes, I know the LEDs aren't straight...I'm an engineer, not an artist

like I said before, we need to make a website for this stuff

a website all about DIY devices and such
and simple enough instructions (detailed iow) for non-EE people (like me) to be able to do it.

If you look at the previous thread started by PearlR/T, the schematic's there.

As for putting it in your car, well, that's up to you I just built this as a proof of concept; you can arrange the LEDs any way you want.

Looks like VB Black Belt's got something for your speedo as well.

This is a tachometer...an A/F gauge done this way would be even easier, as you wouldn't need any of the circuitry below the first line.

Right, so could you make an A/F Gauge that wasn't quite so jumpy.
If you could make one that could be stable like the tach gauge I would be up for that.

I was figuring the pulses were in reference to the A/F type of squirelliness.

I got lazy, as usual I have about 1/2 of the parts I need here, most importantly the laser scanning unit, but haven't sat down to write firmware for the controller yet (i960 based...should've gone with a nice '030 or '040 instead )
