Yes, it works with whatever orientation you feel fits best. Mine has been in play going on four years now but with added copper spray. Pressure-tested to 40psi just fine.

You can be skeptical all you want. I could give two shits really. I am answering the question proposed with real-world success. Same gasket going on four years. Probably 60-80 logged pulls ranging from 33-38lbs of peak boost, tons of joyrides given to other 3S owners, and multiple 40psi pressure-tests done properly. This is in addition to always putting in the tuning time and effort into drivability.

Heads would explode with the other locals' builds, setups, and tunes that I have done using it. I still stock and use both this and OEM, but the OP is asking about the former. Like anything else in the world, YMMV.
