If you've never done it before, i would set a side nice long day maybe part of another day.
I've never done it but the things I do attempt to do...always take longer....because some piece wont fit. Or screw is stripped, bolts rounded, can't find the right size tool.

I think Hans said around 30 hours.
you'll definately need more than a day.. maybe a long weekend.. like start Friday afternoon, all day Saturday, and finish up Sunday. That's only if you have all the parts, tools, and nothing goes wrong.
yup, I run my estimates off of 30 hours. It may take a little less, but it's a safe estimate. I would estimate more if you've never done something like this before.

Ya, then if you are missing a flywheel Bolt, or the parts store is real slow with Misc. Parts or you spend a whole afternoon trying to get the tranny back up, or if it wont start after you get it all put together and forgot to put a relay back in...right Leland ;)
Anybody have a good source for rebuilt or used 5spd trannies.....very few shops here carry foreign(sp) stuff.
If i dont' take my take would it take me 30hrs?
??? take your take?
i mean if i don't take my time would it take me 30hrs?
Just start on it friday night and finish it up Saturday. Maybe sunday if necessary. Do things right the first time and you dont have to go back and do them again.
first time changing my headlights to put a new one on it took a while becasuse well, I had no clue how to do it. Then the other one took all of 2minutes to get too. But the screw was stripped so it took a little longer. And this is simple compared to swapping a tranny out.
