I have to give the size for my forged piston upgrade and I was wondering if anywhere on the stock pistons it has the size stampped so I can be sure that it wasnt overbored at the last rebuild 30k ago?
Brian - no they usually aren't stamped with the size. Take one to a machine shop and have them micrometer it to tell you the size (I'll be stock). Or you could micrometer the bores (usually how it is done).
Pokey,
Do you mean 0.006"? Less than 0.001" is very rare (and unsual) for forged pistons. The stocker cast pistons want like 0.0008 - 0.0016". My venolia want 0.005". Also, stock bore is 91.1 mm (3.587") - according to the overhaul manual.
