finally got my 93 vr4 from NY, and i am still awaiting my 1st race. i've played with a car little bit, but have yet to try romping on her from a stoplight. it's my first awd car so i was wondering what rpm's are okay to launch at. i've read of people launching from 6K, but will that destroy the the driveshaft or differential or anything? i realize if you do it repeatedly it will, but is it safe once in a while? also how effective is it? is it better to launch from 3K. dump the clutch hard or let it out smooth? any tips would be appreciated. thanks.

Unless you're at the drag strip trying for a new record time, launch at about 4500 with a quick slip of the clutch instead of a full clutch dump. That'll save your trans the abuse and still get you off the line quickly.

Launch at 4000 rpm and quickly slip the clutch. That's enought
to put several car length instantly on most of your enemies:)
