I ran into a similar issue with my 74 Diamante lower manifold and the shorter injectors that came with it. The 74 rial has the proper dimensions, but one has to double up the plastic spacers for it to fit properly with our larger injectors.

It depends on your injectors too. My FIC'S sit further in the injector bung than normal OE style densos. I just had to add a 1/16 spacer, reposition the boss on the rails and fly cut the section where the injector body touched.

Well Gent's... the FIC 1150cc injectors are out of the picture...

I traded with another member for a Set of Bosch 1600cc CNG injectors. After looking at spray pattern videos and how well they atomize I was pretty sure I'd be very happy with these. They are compatible with Gasoline, Alcohol, LPG/CNG, Methanol etc. But because of the application which they are meant for they are not technically a "bolt-on" affair. Yes it can be hacked and tweaked to sort of work but in the end the possibility of springing a leak and becoming a glorious ball of fire on the side of the track or street is amplified.

So in order to avoid that I'll document the CORRECT modification process for those who are interested.

Bosch CNG/LPG 1600cc injectors as they are (Don't mind the missing pintle caps)

It's been talked about that these have to be modified in order to fit the 3/S fuel rail. Well, here's an in depth look at how I did it. The mini lathe came in very handy at this point.

They do not fit inside the rail far enough due to the resin collar being too wide.

So we chuck it up on a lathe... and machine down the needed amount to fit properly

Here it is after a few passes.

Here is the modifed injector on the left and the Non-modified injector on the right

Clean it up, then test fit.

Not every one has access to equipment like this but it's still beneficial to all that ever plan to use parts that don't fit. There is a fine line between "modifying" and "hacking" it to work.

Don't be a hack. the previous owner of these injectors was informed that they were modified to fit but unfortunately he was mis-informed. Not his fault, but his car may have potentially been a very fast ticking time bomb.

Nope, My tuner uses the same identical injectors on his daily driven 900whp Evo, Chris Hill uses the same injectors on his DD capable 1G, and a few other reputable folks have chosen this route aswell. I've seen how these perform, I've got not qualms with them.

These are not the natural gas injectors then. Trevor ran those and had huge undrivable issues when they got hot.

Interested to see how they compare. I didn't know Chris was running CNG injectors, I only ever remembered 160# ish.

Pictures of the Mivec fuel rail? Not sure why it was ditched.

Updates! The build isn't dead yet fellas, I started a new job and it's been keeping me from working on the car. 11 hour shifts suck.

I used to work 60 hours a week. I bought a DSM and a good 3g's worth or parts. I wish I could go back to that. No life, no drama, no problems.

Same, Average week of work is 60 hours, but I get my weekends off.. if I do have to work a weekend saturday is OT all day, anything over 8 hours saturday is Double Time, and all day sunday is DT.

Also

No kids
GF has her own money and plenty of it
my living expenses resemble someone who makes min wage.

I could work a mere 20 hours a week and still make all my bills every month and have playing around money.

Thank god for the petroleum industry, and never having to pay for gas.
