Acura RSX type S

I was wondering what people thought about the new Acura RSX type S. I got to drive one today and they're pretty nice. They got some speed. They're no 3000gt, but they beat the pants off of my Talon. They put out [email protected] and [email protected]?. they have a 6 speed short throw shifter which shifts quite nice. The only problem is that the gear ratios are too high,(~2400rpm at 50 mph in 6th).

What's your opinion?

man I'd buy a 2000HP RSX anyday!

Aside from that Typo, they are pretty nice cars that'll pull away from an NA 3000GT without too much trouble. they don't have much low end torque, but they make up for that lack of raw power by making the car lgiht and nimble. They would make a great quick family car with a little style and speed. I think they look a lot better than the new civics.

I'm sure they carry Honda's usual reliability as well...

I played with one on the highway one day. It was awesome because
1. It was a chick driving it
2. I had no idea what the car was
3. She went from 70 to 110 really damned quick.

It was one of those circumstances where traffic was blocked by dumb people going slow in the fast lane. Well I was waiting patiently and then it finally broke I downshifted to 4th (my highway fun gear ... 3rd is only for racing) and was about to dart into traffic when the RSX did the same thing. I'll tell you that thing had some pretty impressive acceleration. I realize I was only in 4th but I do have twice it's torque and over 100 more HP but it still took me till about 100 to catch up to her.

Regardless that thing whipped pretty nicely. I would actually consider next year's Type R as one hell of a daily driver. Fun little car and it definitely looked like it would fun to drive. She was loving it. I didn't actually race her we just sorta danced through the 8am traffic down the highway for a while.

If I have $25K,I would buy Subaru WRX any day.It has better
value: AWD+Turbo-charged=quick...

Also,the WRX looks slower than the fast looking RSX,but it is
actually faster both from a stop or from a roll.I like sleeper car.
Dump about $3,000 into WRX,and it will run low 13's.

Anyway,RSX is nice too.Reliable,fun,and nimble.

rsx looks ok on paper but in person ... looks like shit... it is so small on the outside. i test drove one it wasn't good... but then again i've driven (2001)911 turbo's, modified aston martin vanquishes and shit.... so it takes a lot for me to say something is even ok. If it's speed you want go to ebay.com drop 10 grand and get a car that will run 11's sure it will look like shit but it'll be fast.

sorry about the 2000hp, that was just a little joke. lol. Anyway, the 25K price tag isn't that bad. When you could bget a new 3KGT, they would run you about 30K starting. It's not that much different.

The RSX has strange gauges though. The needle starts at the bottom instead of a 1/4 of the way up the gauge like most cars. It takes some getting used to I was driving at 60 in a 40 before I realized how fast I was going.

Anyways, once mods start coming out for them, they could easily hold there own against stock TT's.

The only bad thing is that Acura is about the only dealer that isn't offering 0% financing. Too Bad.

Yeah, but for $25K you can get a WRX. Turbo, AWD, couple of extra doors (good or bad)

Run low 14's versus low 15's or whatever the RSX's run.

Why spend $25k on a WRX when you can spend $9k on a 1991 VR4 and run mid 13 second passes with AWD?

just playin' with ya..I think the WRX is cool, but Subaru has gotta work on the looks, it defiantely takes a lot of getting used to!

I think that the WRX should like like what it looks like in the one commercial, where the car is going into a sharp turn on a dirt track, and it changes into a different rally car. You might not know what I'm talking about, but it's in one of the commercials.

They looked like squished Honda Accords to me. They look good in the ads, but in person they look like shiz IMO.

Acura's line is full of the torqueless wonders, GSR, TypeR, and now the RSX. But the Type S line is good for them. To me its just a beefed up new Civic with a bodykit. But the Type S is faster than I am so I wont shoot it down. Whenever I see a non Type S though, I laugh my ass off.

WRX are decent cars...but they look like total shit IMO. Its kinda sad because in 1 year all the people looking for what the WRX offers "speed and room for 4-5" people could just get an EVO...bleh

Those 3000 dollar rally competition wheels are an option but no one wants to fork over the money considering that the 3000 bucks isnt even including the tires.

They are squished in the wrong direction. The back and roof line is soooooooo tall.
