I know there has been a talk about tire sizes and such here a week or so ago, but the offset and that really doesnt make much sense. Im hoping i can get a direct answer from my question, instead of trying to piece together.. here it is.

I have a set of rims <specs>

17x 7.5 -- offset +45mm/+21mm

PCD-4x100, 4x108, 4x114,5x100,5x108,5x112,5x114,5x115,5x120

vehicle is a 92 r/t tt. I was wondering what max tire size could be, im thinking of 285's but wondering about any problems? please let me know, thx in advance

The absolute widest tire you want to put on a 7.5 rim is a 245 and that is stretching it.

Good luck,

Yeah, 285s would only fit on rims about 9.5 inches wide. Maybe 9 and probably up to 11" wide.

if i were to buy wider rims with the correct offset, would 285's have any problem rubbing or what have you?

With the proper offset the tires will fit on the car but they will stick out of the fender wells a little. I have 275/35ZR18 on my VR-4 and they stick out just a tad. I don't have any current pics or I would post them for you. If I get time to clean the car up this weekend I will take some new pictures.
