The Altered Crew had a fun time racing this weekend at ATCO Raceway in New Jersey (where there was a Supra vs. RX7 event). The Orange Stealth and JB's FWD 3000GT downright made the way people look at our cars and especially FWD 3000GT's totally different.
We took up the Orange Stealth, JB's FWD 3000GT, and our Orange Civic. We got to ATCO racweay Saturday hoping to get a handful of practice runs in on the cars. It was very windy, and when we got to the track they were only running 1/8mile, so we decided to wait for the Sunday race - and hoped the winds would die down.
The wind calmed down on Sunday, and we got a chance to make some passes. With another tranny (used) in the Stealth and a set of 3SX motor mounts, I had high hopes of improving my times. I pulled up and droppoed the clutch just past the burnout box to clean off the tires. Everything seemed well, so I pulled to the line. The lights went, and I was off. Got a 1.66 60-foot which is my best so far with the TD05 20G's! But unfortunalty, I would find out the 2nd gear syncro in the used tranny I installed was no good. So I missed second, and ended up running a crappy time. I was dissapointed, but figured I'd make a super-easy pass just to see if I could get all of the gears. I made anothe run, bogging off the line and slowly granny shifting to a 11.4 @ 135 1/2mph. Nothing impressive as the tranny kept me, once again, from breaking some records - but the Supra and RX7 crowd got a chance to see what these cars are capable of!
JB, on the other hand, really kicked some a**!! We were racing in a class made up of about 25 Supra Twin Turbos and RX7 Twin Turbos. JB's FWD 3000GT completely amazed the Supra and RX7 crowd, as he busted into the 11's with his FWD 3000GT running a 11.8 @ 113.05mph (1.79 60 foot) - letting off the gas early!! I wonder what the car would have done if it made the full pass!?
So here it is....
The Orange Stealth pulled off an excellent 60-foot 1.66 which is its best to date with the AAM TD05 20G kit!
JB's FWD 3000GT BROKE MORE RECORDS and SMASHED INTO THE 11's!!!!! FWD 3000GT's will always be looked upon with a new respect now! JB's FWD 3000GT with a bone-stock motor and the AAM Spec. Turbo Kit put many Twin Turbo Supra's and RX7's to shame this past weekend - coming in 2nd place in the head's up racing!
As soon as its ready, we will post some video of the event for everyone to see. We have some great footage of JB's FWD 3000GT whooping up on some Supras!
See ya,
