Hello 3s members! This will be my thread dedicated to my NA. I have plans to finish my NA 3000gt before I end up purchasing another car. As time passes I know we are less of us out there, yet mine will remain on the road for as long as I can drive it. I have done some restoration on the car, with the help of my dad.

I need to fix my 5th gear since it slips, purchase a refurbished a/c compressor from my local auto parts store, and maybe be on the lookout for a running donor 3000gt with a manual transmission to remove all the parts that I could need in the future. Is it just me or parts are getting more difficult to find? Just throwing that out there. I really love my car and hope I can keep driving it for many more years to come.

Aiming for an OEM clean look, as Eve is a daily driver.
So far
-Twin turbo Intake Plenum.
-K&N Drop in, OEM box with injen intake arm.
-Magnaflow high flow cat, magnaflow muffler 2.5.
-3sx Short throw Shifter.
-Innovative aftermarket motor mounts.
-3sx high-tension valve springs and titanium retainers, 3rd gen hydraulic big bore 3sx lifters. (mod added after dyno, might have gone from 168 to 172)
-Ceramic brake pads, 3sx blue braided brake lines.
-Vision 17 inch wheels.
-Vogtland Springs.
-3sx lightweight crank pulley(oem size).
-Greedy cooler cap.
-NGK spark plugs and wires.
-Stage +2 BC camshafts.(newly installed, mod added after dyno. Horsepower at the time unknown.) estimate-181 hp.
-Reverse camera with bluetooth touch screen.

Parts owned but yet to put on
-Momo steering wheel.
-3sx kooks headers w/3sx high flow cat.
-3sx lightweight cam gears. (Would clear timing covers look any good?)
-Jester Chrome ECU.

The plan
-Stage 1 clutch w/lightweight flywheel.
-BF Goodrich Tires w/new set of wheels from Discount Tire. Drag DR-44 gloss silver finish.
-3sx Ross pistons 11:1 compression.
-Fix my a/c screen for good!
-Fix my fuel gauge needle.
-Buy new speakers with a small amp.
-Coilovers.
-3sx sway bar.
-Fix foglights.
-Port and polish head/block.
-oem style carbon fiber hood match paint.
-Corbeau seats(pair-black).
-3sx aluminum dashboard vents.
-Carpet dashboard(grey).

Cosmetic upgrades will be added at the end of my build(Look for a 99 VR4 combat wing or not?). She will stay white. The last time I attended a gathering she was pushing 168 hp without the lifters, retainers, and valves. I love this machine, I cannot leave her undone. Must finish her.

Pictures are not showing, does anyone have domain suggestions? I'll be uploading a video on youtube after I get it back from my local tuning shop. Taking advantage that I am not driving as much because of the epidemic.

Stage +2 BC camshafts installed.

*Bump! Got a few goodies: 3sx cam gears, new synchro kit, Jester chrome ecu, new stock size fuel injectors, new fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter, 3sx kooks headers, 3sx high flow cat, new radiator, new a/c condenser, oem oxygen sensor.

Currently getting the car tuned, installing my momo steering wheel, and still undecided about my exhaust setup since the kooks exhaust from 3sx is currently unavailable. :(

I believe you can drag and drop pictures directly into the forum now.

Looks like my usual build sheet recommendations I give to people who want to build their NA.

With the TT Intake Manifold, Headers, and good exhaust alone you'll be at 200whp+ with ease. The NA 72 responds very well to those basic mods.

3" Exhaust would be worth the extra money. 2.5" helps torque, but Starts getting a little restrictive when you get passed the 220whp range, after 6,000rpm I've found.

Once you get the head work done you should have no problem with a 7500-8200rpm rev limit. Power starts falling off after 7800ish with the TT intake manifold in place due to the Runner length.

I recently did a lot of work and put on a lot of new parts on my 3s. One of the cylinders is still misfiring with new fuel injectors, chrome jester ecu, new ptu, spark plugs, and wires. I've been told that the bc stage 2 + cams are causing my engine trouble. My 3000 has a fully built head and rebuilt block with only 20k miles on the pistons, rings, valve stem seals, and head gasket. One of my cylinders doesn't have compression. Any ideas? I'm removing the cams sadly, putting my oem ones back on with my 3sx lgithweight cam gears. And I'll be replacing my pistons with 3sx ross 11:1 pistons stock bore. Could these be okay on my engine without e85? My 3000 is barely going to get checked at the shop on Friday since not one single shop in town wanted to work on the car. :( I'm even debating on whether I should toss in the towel or not... The car still feels very strong despite that cylinder failure.

Update.

My engine is done, it jumped timing. It'll be some time before I get her on the road again. Despite having many new oem parts on the car. Any ideas anyone on where to start? I'm hoping my head is completely fine, that way I can just focus on rebuilding the entire block.

Do you know the extent of the damage?
It could very well be limited to just bent valves.
Have you had a chance to remove the heads?

Don't get ahead of yourself at this point.
Find out the extent of the damage and build a strategy from there.

Good Luck!!

Bob.
