1G vs. 2G parts?

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a VR4 or a stealth, come Dec. 2003, so I've got some time. I wanted to know what parts are adaptable between a 1gen, and a 2gen. Ex. can a 2nd gen front fascia fit on a 1st gen car. Not to rip on you first gen owners, but I'm not much on the pop-up headlights. I've read that the engine output was changed due to 2lbs boost, but was that the only change? Can I use the 6spd. tranny on a 1st gen? I'd just like to know what my options are for my perfect car.
