if you still have your stock exhaust you can drill a small hole to fit a wd/40 straw to spray the butterfly inside the exhaust and then plug the hole with a tiny machine screw. that will free it up an d keep it working like new

there was/is a guy on the book of faces selling a stock system for $100 (?), but he refuses to ship. You may want to check there and see how far it is from you.

I managed to pick up a used active exhaust muffler a few years ago, but the butterfly is really sticking, i will have to try tigger's suggestion.

I think this is what gawdzinner is talking about: Shawn Crowley

The mounting tab for the actuator cable appears to be broken off, and the valve appears to not be in its normal resting position, so it may be stuck open?

edit: nevermind on the broken tab (I think). I think it's just the angle of the picture confusing me.

When I bought the car it didn't have the stock exhaust. It has the computer, motor and the cable still on the car but im not sure if everything works.I would be interested in buying what you have for the exhaust system if its all in working order. Let me know.
Thanks Eric

I have a muffler with functioning valve (moves smoothly, and tested by blowing air through with a shop vac while actuating the valve). I bought this a while ago to install when winter is over, but then stumbled across a complete OEM muffler (driver + passenger side) that was in like-new condition, never installed. So now this is a spare:

Will need to be welded to the passenger side muffler from a donor. I have scavenged parts off of it already that I may or may not need. If I were to sell now, it would be the muffler only; no exhaust tips, cable, shield, or bolts.

While removing the shield, the bolt heads twisted off. The remaining part of those 2 bolts still needs to be drilled out in order to re-mount a shield.

If I wait to sell until after I take care of replacing the exhaust on my car in a couple months, then I will likely be able to include additional parts as long as the originals on my car are not in bad shape.

Let me know if you are interested.

  1. Yes Im interested, I have most of the exhaust system the muffler I have is missing the cam that the cable connects to, it rusted off.I have the cable, the valve shield and the exhaust tips. I will have to look online to see what Im missing from the manifold back.
If you are willing to sell it I live in Rhode Island so it would have to be shipped. Please let
me know how much you would want for just the muffler
