Hello All, I have been on a search for an OEM of a 91-91 Oil Pump. I have seen oil pumps 93+avabile but, my current 91 Dodge Stealth 91 R/T Turbo DOHC needs a replacement oil pump. The question is it is possible to use a 93+ or new Oil Pump and replace the Oil pan or will that not work? If...

I have a 92 3000GT VR4 with 110,000 miles. It was running great. Then it stopped running. The timing belt and pulley and tensioner etc was replaced by the previous owner at 97,000 miles. I found that the tensioner pulley hadn't been correctly tightened and the belt slipped on the cogs. I...
  3. Parts Wanted
I am planning on getting an N/A oil pump and switching over the relief spring but Mitsubishi direct parts just called me saying they're on national backorder right now and could be more than 12 weeks. If anyone has a new oil pump for my fresh tt rebuild I will pay $250 plus shipping for it.

I am at the final stages of rebuilding my tt engine and I'm coming across a problem finding proper injectors. Whoever did this tt swap failed to switch over the injectors, ecu, fuel pump etc. I am already planning on getting a chrome ecu and am thinking I might plan to go e85 later down the...

My power steering belt will not stop squaling, i used a rubber hose as a stethoscope and the squeal is coming from the crankshaft pulley, more specifically i believe the power steering belt is rubbing against the alternator crankshaft pullys face. Any tips or comments on how to proceed to fix this?

Hi, my name is Arthur. Im a gearhead from Austria which happens to have two Stealths in my collection of cars. The second project car I´ve ever gotten was a 1993 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo (Canadian edition/Delivery with KMH instrument clusters) and that was more than 5 years ago which is the...

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum. I have a 1991 3000gt VR4 with 100k miles and a couple months ago I was driving it and mildly accelerating in 2nd gear when the engine started rapidly knocking. Here is a video of the knocking: 1991 3000gt VR4 Spun Bearing I’m not sure if it’s rod...
  8. New Owner Questions
I called the Mitsubishi dealership near me to get a recommendation as to where to go to get my engine rebuilt. I got the name of a local shop and have been talking to them for a little over a month now and have almost all of my parts dropped off there. Today I was finally emailed a quote to...
  9. New Owner Questions
The previous owner of my 3000gt planned on rebuilding the engine but didn't have the funding, as I am coming closer to having the engine reassembled, I noticed that only 5 out of the 6 piston heads that the previous owner bought had wrist pins. I couldn't find it anywhere within all of the parts...

Below I had listed 3 pictures and I need help removing both the parts pictured. The bolted strap at the top of the oil pan and also the oil pick up tube. I have taken off the bolts that would remove the part I am referring to but I am also wanting to know how to safely remove the gear seeing as...
  11. New Owner Questions
As I have gotten more familiar with the 3000gt and the rebuild side of vehicles, I started to realize some things about my specific 3000gt that I am definitely going to need help with in the near future. When I bought the car it was listed as a 95' body with a 92' engine in it. Come to realize...

  13. New Owner Questions
I recently purchased my first project car being a 95' Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. I know rebuilding the engine will not be an easy task and I did some reading and saw that there is a service manual that helps walk through some of the essential steps to rebuild/repair the 6G72. However, the person I...

Hi al, figured I would post this here, I have started a YouTube channel to document my 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T TT engine rebuild. If anyone is thinking about doing this, the time lapse videos may give you an idea of what you are getting into, or if you have done this before maybe you are feeling...
