Hey -- yeah I do remember talking about it! Too bad it's so humid down there. With plastidip, I've never done it myself. I've never really seen a plastidip'd car up close and in person. I have seen various pictures of plastidip'd cars online, some of which have been very impressive. In fact I'm even considering doing it in white to my audi wagon. So, you get the go-ahead from me, and if you do it, I'll be psyched to see the results!
Hey Jake -- I forget if I sanded the paint layer immediately pre-clear coat. I guess I must have. Either way, no, the sanding marks did not show through. I was very meticulous with the sanding, though and made sure it was completely even before spraying the clear.
I didn't wetsand the clear afterwards, I wasn't sure whether it would turn the paint into a gloss look instead of a satin / flat look. But, I never tried it to see what would happen. Maybe if you did a small panel and wetsanded it to experiment?
One thing I did do was wax it - it looked great until the wax started wearing off - but if I had kept a constant coat of wax it would have looked great.

The paint held up well. I didn't have the car for long enough after I painted it to really figure out what kind of long-term durability it would have had. It did get dirty fairly quickly, and it never looked as good dirty as when it was clean. But when it was clean, it looked really good.
