Hi guys, just wanted to offer a suggestion in regards to setting up a meets in your areas. Its been my experience in the 8 years that i have been running 3SNY that its best to set a date, time, and place based on the concentration of the 3S enthusiasts in your area. Without the use of opinion polls or poll threads. Of course you would take some consideration to find some common ground since if there is a large distance between everyone up by you guys. But ultimately, you just have to do it. Start small and build momentum.
Someone just has to take the initiative and hold a meet and see who comes. Then as you get some momentum it will be easier to coordinate your efforts. When we first started 3SNY we had our problems getting started but the best thing to do was have meets monthly and mix up locations. Then as time went on we found a common ground that everyone was happy with. I cant disclose the personal information of members or applicants but I can assure you they are out there. Im sure they're just looking for a spark to get things going.
If there is anything 3SNY can do to help, just let me know. If you guys want me to put something on 3SNY's Facebook page in events, include it in our newsletters, or anything like that. I am more than willing to help.
well, if someone wants to throw something out there, Im all ears.
I know my local truck groups usually meet up at places like Quaker steak and Lube, Duffs, Dave and Busters... and even a BBQ place. We had a summer picnic / meet and greet at a park, had a cook out.
one more thing...
anytime I hear upstate... I think of watertown, syracuse etc..
I dont really think of the WNY area...
So, Im gonna guess we're in that mix as well.
I'll take that. The long island area seems to have a pretty solid set up going on.
If we could mirror that, might be nice.
I kinda want to get over that way, just once to check it out.
Slacker your more than welcome to stop by any of our meets. Our next big meet we're hosting will be on Saturday April 2nd. Im not sure if you are aware but we have out own lil clubhouse located in the Pampena Motorsports facility. Its nothing crazy, but home is where u make it (lol). If you ever thinking of getting work done or dyno tuned by Pampena Motorsports, you can kill 2 birds with one stone, LOL.
Dont get me wrong, 3SNY has its ups and downs also. We're far from perfect but the one thing that has been keeping 3SNY going is the effort of the few for the benefit of the many. We got a few die hards that have been in the club for 8 years and we meet great new people every year. I try to manage the resources that each individual member offers and try to utilize them to build up the club. For example, my friend & I do websites so 3SNY will be getting a new website shortly. Dave builds furniture so he helped with making the furniture for the clubhouse. Ray Pampena, well, is Ray Pampena and hes given so much to 3SNY and the 3S community as a whole. Everyone brings something to the table and we try to support one another. I can go on and on how having a unified effort makes the whole 3S experience that much better but I digress, lol.
If theres something you think we can do to help, just let me know. Theres alot more to 3SNY that you may not be aware of.
Yes^ I would love to have a meet. We tried a few times but it never panned out.
I'm actually surprised we dont have meets, there's alot of owners up here but there seems to be a lack of intrest.
Alot of the other chapters have meets all the time. Lets do it
Ive been going around rochester chasing down anyone with a 3s trying to set up a group. I my group would def like to do something. we are also trying to set up a caravan for the 3sng
^Me too and they think I'm crazy. I seen a 3s in the autozone parking lot and I ran in there asking who's it was. Ended up being an employee and he didn't seem intrested to talk cars.
^Well if you want to cruize when the weather breaks PM me.
damn... I start showing some interest and getting a ball rolling... and poof! lol
yeah. wouldnt mind getting something going on here. Not really suggesting anything too big just yet. too small.
If you guys have any ideas let me know. The only idea Im kicking around right now is going to this East coast thing in Maryland, and maybe going to 3SNY meet sometime
yeah... grabs some attention too. I know from being in a convoy of offroad trucks.
But, yeah, I'd love to get involved with a convoy of cars. Besides, if someone runs into trouble I have tools and mini air compressor always in the back for long hauls.
kinda jacking the thread with ECG stuff but, when are people heading there? Friday morning?
In regards to the ECG we actually go a day or two earlier. Ocean City, MD is a really fun place with lots to do and see. So we take the extra day to do our own thing before the event actually starts.
you mean shooting up there on thursday instead of friday? I just need to figure out what everyone else has in mind of when they want to meet up and head there in convoy.
Does anyone have a CB in their car? I might take mine out my truck and slap it in my car.
We have a club meeting March 4th, we'll give u the particulars after the meeting. We also have to talk with the 3SNJ brothers and see what they would like to do.
For the ECG meet I want to get ideas rolling for the convoy. I wanted to see if the people from Rochester wanted to meet up at Mt. Morris right off the 390. And the people from upstate ny meet up with us at Binghamton. And head down from there. Any ideas throw them my way or text me up 716-997-4361.
^Cool man you need any help let me know. I also have quite a few parts laying around if you need anything. I also live down the road from autozone. Do you have a craigslist add?
i live on Chestnut ridge!! I probably will need some help and i would def like to look at the parts you have.. yeah i did idk if its still up but yeah it was a yellow and black one but now i have a red one. def hit me up id like to stop by and see what you have.
i wouldnt mind going. but gotta get my car to start! lol ne one have an extra fuel solenoid. ( the one that is in the cabin that is on the passenger side of the center console)
Yea I wouldn't mind a quick get together somewhere for the people around Syracuse maybe. I just recently bought my 93' VR4 and have been itching to meet the others around town
If you guys are interested, im sure i could arrange a meet at the shop for everyone to come hang out. If its nice out we can grill, or go into town and grab dinner.
Also if anyone wants we could make a mini dyno day out of it, if anyones looking to do a couple pulls on the dyno to see where they are at.
I know my car is far from ready, but im always up to hang out and see whats around.
