I posted something like this elsewhere with no luck.
I have a tranny leak and need to know how much tranny fluid my Auto takes.
also how hard is it to replace a gasket with only a floor jack and jack stands with boards?
^Thats for a complete flush which includes draining the torque converter. If your just changing the fluid and filter I would buy between 4-5 quarts and add until shes full.
replaced it and the filter today.
took me a little while..
I had to use my trusty floor jack and do it in the driveway.
If I had a lift to use, it might have taken half the time.
Turns out the old gasket was a crappy Cork gasket.
replaced that with a decent rubber one.
I also wiped the pan clean with a rag.
The magnets in the pan didnt have much of anything on them.
Just silver residue. Otherwise decent.
Taking it for a spin tomorrow because my truck is down
Went offroading today with some buddies of mine.
The fan cracked and shredded, and pierced the radiator.
Also cracked the fan shroud.
oh... and it takes 4.8 Qts
I asked the guy at Advanced Auto. He looked it up and found it.
after I added the fluid, I checked the stick and it looked ok.
Will find out more when I drive it in 10 hours.
Castrol import something... I dont remember exactly. The bottles are outside still.
Its what I had Advanced Auto look up. I usually trust these guys.
