I have my FMIC sitting here, I got some time... I am going to try putting it on, I sure hope this will not be that hard, mean it looks pretty straight forward
I downloaded some instructions, if anyone knows anything else please let me know, I am starting in A few minutes
I just read your post on the NEG thread... go through the process of what you removed when you installed the FMIC (mechanical items, not the bumper). Did you MAKE ABSOLUTE SURE that nothing was in the piping before you installed it? Sometimes there are peanuts in them. Also, was this just an FMIC install? Or piping as well?
I have the PMP kit, yes all piping also, I did not disconnect or other wise screw around with anything but the piping, although I think I'm going back to stock in the morning, I found my stockers are serious jacked up though, if it fires up on the stockers it will stay that way now
shouldn't be hard depending on your knowledge on where pipes go on the intercooler, its just a bunch of clamps and pipes. i also did the kit on my car, the only problems i encountered are that you might have to cut the weight on the shifter cable area and you might have to enlarge the hole with a drill or carbide cutter where your IC pipes go in on the drivers side.
i am thinking about switching it up though, my temps are 200-240 driving. =/
have you put this on yet? i was thinking about all different kinds of options for better than stock intercoolers. i guess this one is the most painful to install.
yeah, it's on now, went to get a tune from Ray... only to discover that my BOV is leaking like crazy... so no extra boost for me until next week when I obtain a new BOV
all in all, this thing could have used some instructions or the right bend on the pipes, I had to cut and bend just about every pipe in this kit except for the Y pipe, this thing fits like crap
I never worked on the aftermarket side of cars when I bought my vr4. I built and installed my own FMIC in 10 hours. That includes cutting and making every piece. No bending, just bought assorted prebent pieces.
Its not that bad if you ever played with legos
