Default my TT hates me and I need help

Little bit of back story to explain where i currently am with this issue, started a few months ago

I think it may have started after I got a BEE-R revlimiter(lil 2-step box). I think this may have been the original cause of the issue since sometimes when i got on it hard, after i launched or let off It’d feel like it lost a cylinder of two for a few seconds.

I'll be driving the car for ~30min when it'll start losing cylinders untill it wont run at all. I'll wait till the motor cools down, and it'll run again as if nothing had ever happened. when its not wanting to run, the only thing I can really identify as a problem is a total lack of spark. pulled the plug wires off and theres zero arcing at all.

so, trying to be logical, I replaced the coils. car ran fine for 3 days, then spark loss hit again, waited for it to cool down, and drove it home.

next I replaced the PTU, car seemed to be doing well, but i tried to take it on a test drive and it started feeling like it was missing cylinders still. pulled plug wires to see if there was spark and the frontmost(1/4?) coil wasnt arcing at all. I let it sit and run for a while but it didnt die out fully like it did previously. This is where i started thinking it may have been thanks to the BEE-R revlimiter. It felt very similar to the way it would drop cylinders after i got on 2step hard.

thinking that the BEE-R revlimiter I got the idea that the revlimiter fried something. From my understanding it watches rpm to hit a set limit, then grounds out the CAS single so the ECU doesnt know when to spark. So I got the idea that it may have fried the ECU or CAS, and decided to get a chrome ECU.

I installed the ECU while waiting for tactrix cable to show up, but car wouldnt run, just crank. Tried hooking up one of those bluetooth OBDII readers using torque on my phone, it was able to connect to the ecu, but wasn't able to display any data at all. Idunno if chrome ships with a tune, but after this i assumed it didn’t and that was my issue.

aaaand that gets to today. Tactrix cable arrived, I went and flashed the ecu. Car still doesnt start, in fact it got even weirder. Turn car on, hear some weird noise that sounds like a geiger counter coming from engine bay(light sporadic ticking), then ECS lights start flashing. Go to start car and it cranks, doesnt start, throws CEL and ECS works again. Heres the kicker, OBDII BT reader still cant ready any info, and reports no fault codes

I’m lost on what to do from here and I can’t seem to find any info online that will help. Anyone input on this would be GREATLY appreciated

(UPDATE)
looks like the OBDII BT reader might just not work. tried using it to read a CEL off my mom's wrangler and no dice.

of course. I hadnt used it since the first time the car died on me, and removed the wiring for it when i swapped the PTU, so nothing left of it in the car currently

A couple things come to mind.

There is an ecs computer behind a panel on the passenger trunk panels. You may want to unplug that as its tied into the tps circuit and the caps go bad in it often.

2ndly I am not sure what you have for a chrome ecu, but it sounds like maybe it doesn't support the dual mode fuel pump relay. You may want to bypass that or hotwire the pump.

unplugged ECS and it didnt do any better, sadly. I'll have to look into the fuel pump relay, but I think the previous owner already bypassed it

Have you tried plugging the old ECU back in? This would at least let you know if the no start is chrome related before messing with it too much.

did that last night, car ran, and did so just as poorly as it did before. put chrome ECU back in, and of course didnt start, but didn't throw a CEL either. gonna see what it takes to get it to throw a CEL again tonight and try to find a code reader to use.

anyone ever have that little 1 wire cylinder go bad next to the coils? by the PTU? some noise isolater thing?

it seems to be overlooked a lot in troubleshooting, and honestly... I dont know what it does. But.... it seems to be heat related. and that thing is in an area with heat.... and its spark related. so.... just a random thought from a sick cow that hasnt had any coffee yet.

did you use heat paste on the ptu? Is it mounted on the bracket?

Throw that bee R as far as you can.

Have you "checked" cam/crank sensors?

I got the new PTU already on a bracket, didn't think i needed to put thermal paste on it. bee-r is most definitely not going anywhere near my car. it was cool to use but if all this trouble is the price to pay for some backfiring, then I'm done with it.
havent checked the sensors yet but will be the next thing i do now.

that's actually a fantastic point. I had completely forgotten that little guy existed at all. I'll add it to the list of parts to inspect.

I got EvoScan today and tried to datalog and see if the ECU was even trying to do anything. it seems that the ECU at the very least is seeing most inputs/sensors, but isnt telling the motor to do anything. RPM shows a solid 0 across the board while cranking. the ECU gets RPM from the cam/crank sensors though right? if so that might explain why it isnt starting(but not why the cam/crank sensor is good enough to run with stock ecu???)

tried using evoscan to pull the engine fault codes too. despite the CEL being on(and evoscan logging "CEL status" as 1), evoscan found zero fault codes. I'm not entirely sure if i was using the correct CEL protocol though. I used "MUTII EFI," tried other protocols but they returned "j2534 read error - 16" which i assume either means I did have the right protocol or theres something else wrong.
