Default emergency brake cables

I don't know if anyone had this issue but I did & it drove me crazy( anal ) I know. my e-brake cable were hanging because of broken brackets welded to bottom of car. at first I thought I would have to reweld but then I figured they would just break again. So upon further thought I figured I would fasten them with self tapping screws. So I obtained ( 4) stainless steel screws & flat washers, & with my handy drill/driver I was able secure the brackets permanently I hope.

Good thinking, although I probably would have added some threadlocker to help with vibrations. What size were the screws? Pictures will also help anyone else in the same predicament.

1/4 " self trappers. I am on vacation next week. I will Jack up the car & try to get a good pic. My driver is an impact so I feel confident they won't come loose

Here are the pics as best I could get. As I said earlier rewelding would probably make the brackets fail again. Screws on the other hand will not heat up the thin metal
