Its all about the resonance frequency of the rotating assembly... there is a reason why the damper is placed on there in the first place.
Removing it can allow high amplitude vibrations to build in the crankshaft during operation and if held there will start micro cracks and then lead to crack propagation and ultimately lead to the crank shaft cracking and snapping.
It doesn't matter if the motor is turbocharger or not.
