In 300k, the black car has had neither... and I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt, that while the tube seals don't leak, the front rocker cover leaks like a sieve.

As for the pumpkin, she gets new seals every engine rebuild, which is unfortunately much more often than every 60k

For the minimal cost, it can't hurt.

I have a factory manual and it does not say to do Gaskets and seals at 60k, and at that you are correct. Fezeli's had told me that I should do this as they have had cars come in for the 120K and by then it is to late. oil is all over everything. So I was going by the history they had with these car and the advice of there service manager, and I thought it was way cool that they would even share this info with me. I Am looking out for my customers and may be a little pushy some times. :eek
You are also right in the fact that we are on the same side, that is why we are all on this thread. So, am I selling something you may not need yet. Yes I am. You wouldn't wait untill you tires will no long hold air to replace them. Just as we are replacing timing belts BEFORE they brake.

Did i miss it, but how many miles are on the orginal posters car? Also how many miles since last major service? (60k 120k ect?)

Depending on the above, will depend if the water pump really needs replaced. Our motors use a cross over pipe that spans from the water pump to the water housing, if it sat dry or any rad flush was used they can leak. Is the motor in it factory build? What is the history? It is possible you might not need to go through all the trouble listed above... Has the system ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS had coolant in it? (Strait water was NEVER run)?

I am just saying a leak doesn't necessarily mean water pump.

Phate's car has been seen by the GTwizard and has been healed. A full blown 60K with plugs and wires. The water pump was so bad the shaft had enough play to jump time and for the life of me I do not know how he was driving it. When I pulled the timing cover, the belt was engaged by only 2 teeth on the front intake cam gear. It was dollied here after he lost all is water on the way to work friday. He also had spark plug tubes filled with oil. Next month he will be back for axles and ball joints. On that note, Anyone know hoe to get a hold of "customshiftboot" ?
