Someone at the shop drop in a washer???

What they going to do about the beating the head took? if they don't at LEAST grind out the rough spots, it WILL heat will collect there, and create hot spots causing detonation. You should have them polish out the rough spots, and ceramic coat the combustion chambers IMHO.

Alrighty since scott is curious I will release the cat out of the bag.

Continuing on from knocking going down in my engine led to this.

We believed it was a washer then when my dad called and told me it was part of the valve my heart sunk. So now they are taking care of the work. The head is just coming back to the shop after a week of being worked on(surfacing grinding yada yada) I believe it got banged up a bit. Looking at the piston seemed to be a few nicks on the top and may have damaged the ring. Therefore were not taking any chances we are going to replace the piston itself (dealer 45 bucks) so its not a devestating blow there.
Next we noticed the cam shaft on one side was loose due to the previous owner decided not to strap them down right when installing egr block off plates. nonetheless that will be bolted back down and hopefully will end my notorious backfire.
Now comes to the last problem that will get fixed. The guy with the black 99 decided to sell me his motor mounts because my axle boot is torn and I believe its because of the engine sitting a bit lower then usual causing it to tear by metal to rubber.

The brightsides free service on all of it. all im paying for is the orignal plan of the tune up so I could prevent bending valves 0_o. There replacing VSS so I dont have to worry about blowing smoke out my ass hehe. And then finally I get a new piston lol. Like I said tho if you guys have any of the following that I could use to put on my car please let me know I wont lowball.

So now were all up to date.

Wait, your EGR blockoff plates don't connect directly to your camshafts?

I must have installed mine wrong. Self fail

Okay now I am really confused. haha

EGR block off plates are no where near connecting to the camshafts.

There is a connector on your exhaust, your plenum etc. Ummmm I am really confused.

Can someone please take a picture of EGR plates on your camshafts.

Well that was m yhypothesis on the reason why the camshaft was loose. I really was throwing out a ballpark guess on that one. To be quite honest I have no clue why someone would work on the camshaft but the problem still lies in camshaft was very loose....loose. And scott I was only kidding I was going to release the info once it was done.
