Unhappy Rest In Pieces

Its official, the gecko1 car is no more…

Friday afternoon I watched as what was left of the chassis went into the crusher and came out as a nice little cube.

Prior to taking it to the crusher I took off everything that could be unbolted drilled out or cut off in a useable condition. Some parts went on my 94 and many others have been sold but I still have a lot of parts left to sell; Hood, Windshild, Hatch, Passenger Door, Driver Sideskirt and most of the interior to name a few. If you need a part chances are good that I may still have it. Shoot me a PM if there is something you need.

I had a nice little surprise when I pulled the engine, it had solid lower motor mounts! Took me all of 30 minutes to transfer those puppies to my car.

I have decided to keep the engine and go through it from top to bottom. I want to see just how much HP a NA can make.

So RIP little green car, you may be gone but you are giving second life to many others.

Sad to hear she is gone.

Yep, I left those solids in as a little surprise. They are Gecko Racing Product that looks a lot like maximal solids. A couple years back I cut and welded together a few sets of solids for personal use. Since they are more or less a stolen product/design I told myself that I would never sell them. Thus you get one set for free!

Use them at your own risk! My welding skills are NOOB at best. ...but they've held up for 3 years and several track visits, so I think they are ok.

Hey man, good to hear from you.

I looked the mounts over pretty good before installing them. The welds still look ok, no cracks that I could see. They sure make a difference in the way the car feels! Good thing I changed them out too, my stock mounts were totally shot. My car is now in pretty good shape overall with the fender and sideskirt replaced and lots of little misc. parts. I am currently doing the prep work and priming for a fresh coat of paint.

Hope you are staying cool in Houston, it was 107° here yesterday!

L8r,
-Glen

Subscribing since I was able to get my old username back.

I'm glad parts of that car will live on in other cars.
